Freshman got his chance and they pulled him. That kind of offense that they run, I don't think they read defenses, it doesn't look like they do. LSU especially, they don't really coach them up down there.”

Not an untrue word in there. Lack of imagination, overall stubbornness to continue with something that doesn't work, has been LSU's Achilles heel since 1/9. It's about time someone with a high profile called this out. Maybe it will help effect change, progression, initiation into the 21st century, at LSU. (But we're certainly not counting on it.)

Then Miles got Cam, and now the problem is solved. Cam killed it with Mett, but was left with no experienced talent the next year. He is recruiting studs every year now.

Our problem at QB was that what's-his-name from 2007 went goofy on us. Then his replacement developed MS. This resulted in a four or five year hiatus in QB recruiting and developing. We're crawling out of that right now.

The QB problem at LSU was solved two years ago, and ranters are still bitching about it.

It's as much recruiting as it is development, but there is a lot of truth in that statement. I mean if you had a son who had NFL potential (think 5*) would you really want him playing at LSU? Are there examples of kids maximizing their potential at that position because I can't.

OL, RB, defense? Routinely. Just not QB. Its like Bama with kickers and punters, just not a program strength.

I agree with this 100%. Not a QB friendly offense. Now LSU replaced one of the best DC's in the nation for a guy that gave up 102 points to West Virginia. I'm not bullish on the next few yrs in Baton Rouge.

Wait a second, bama has the best punter in the country. Kickers are a different story though

3 of the 5 QBs to start for Les Miles have been drafted. The others, Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson, won the SEC Championship as seniors and were invited to training camp by the Chargers and Bucs, respectively.

Hell, even Russell Shepard, who changed positions is on a 53-man roster.

QB recruiting has been terrible largely because QB development at the high school level in the state is terrible.

Once they get here, the staff does okay with them, but they need time to actually learn how to read defenses after they get here.

I think Steele will be fine, it's not like he had any major talent or athletes for that matter at Clemson.

Regarding what Bradshaw said, it's about time someone said it.

It is called Perception. Every one believes that LSU should never have QB problems. Therefore when they do LSU sucks at producing QB's.

No one in the SEC believes football is played anywhere but down south. Missouri wins 2 straigth SECEast titles and The OSU is National Champs. But they do not play down south.

Perception is something Bobby Boucher's mother would say " The Debil (Devil)" Bobby The Debil

Alabama has the best punter in the country. He should have won the Ray Guy Award as a true freshman. Do you JK Scott at all man?

And other schools bring in guys that know how to read defenses from day 1?

It's not like every school in the conference is putting out first rounders left and right

Other schools don't ask their QBs to read defenses. A school who had Urban Meyer as their coach should know this.

Clemson who routinely has top 10 recruiting classes had no talent on D?

Bradshaw's comments were inappropriate. he may be negatively influencing a young man and it could backfire and hurt his career.

he is, of course, entitled to his opinion but public comments like that greatly diminish my respect for him. he did not attend LSU and it's none of his damn business.

We'll find out how good Bobo/Schotty are at it when Ramsey takes the field this year.
