How is he going to help his draft stock by returning? I think he has reached his ceiling. Wished he would stay, but it's the game today.

Read this earlier, not a smart decision on his part given the PT that would've opened up next season. He has some real issues finishing around the rim. Good luck to him either way though.

Its not about whether he's ready, its about guaranteed money. He must be hearing some good things. I'm with Belle, I think he has a lot of room for improvement and isn't at all ready. It is what it is. Time for Marcus to step it up.

I don't get these comments regarding "he reached his ceiling he is better off leaving". I'm no KY fan, and trust me, I'm delighted they will have a massive exodus, but I honestly feel these kids need college time and guidance from a coach who cares.
I'm glad Walker is staying in Florida. The kid never had a father, he needs education, or he will most likely end up broke in no time like most of these players if he misses an opportunity of growth, hard work and guidance.
The NCAA sucks. They need to start playing these players and make scholarships a commitment to educate these kids, and not just use them.

You can't stop an engineering student from taking a job at NASA for big bucks so they shouldn't stop basketball players.

I don't like it either and understand what you are saying though.

ETA:

Belle in 3...2...1...

I'm not saying prevent them from leaving. I'm saying not kick them out if they fail to meet expectations like often times happen. Scholarships are not guaranteed.

Kick them off the team but let the stay in school...how about that compromise?

Anyone that thinks a guy can improve more in college than with an NBA team, D league or not, is crazy. If you are going in the first round, or are comfortable with a non-guaranteed contract then go on big fella. I mean I always hear people say "so and so" isn't that good and should stay. I say collect that money and take a shot.

Dakari has great size but he's never looked particularly skilled at basketball to me. I think his weight loss from last season actually made him regress a bit as a player this year because he couldn't bully his way to the rim like last year.

I feel like the longer he stayed in college, the more his weaknesses as a basketball player would be exposed. Kind of like what happened to Patric Young.

While I wish a kid like him would stay and help their school, I don't think this is a bad decision if some team is going to take a chance on him in the draft based on his size.
