With Louisville winning it could happen.

How much buildup between the 2 fanbases?

UK is considerably better, so probably less than it should be

I don't think UK was undefeated then and going for 'history.'

They had only two losses, the clear player if the year, and we're well on there way to a national championship...

let's not act like a high profile NCAA matchups haven't happened between these two the last few years.

Ok. I didn't see anyone acting like that so far in the thread.

How many basketball teams have a chance for a perfect season in front of them but have to go through their in-state rival in the semi-final of the NCAA to achieve that goal? I am guessing that hasn't happened often.

I just don't think it would be that much bigger than the 2012 matchup... hell, they met last year in the regional semis last year that was an intense game.

I watched the Louisville-Kentucky game Saturday and came away with the perception that I had not witnessed basketball as I know it should be played. This is the only Kentucky game I saw this season. One team smothered its opponent, not randomly, but totally.

My belief is that Kentucky's coach has planned, through recruitment and coaching tactics, to build a program that smothers and bullies opponents rather than play basketball the way it should be played.

Inevitably, this corruption of college basketball will doom the sport at the college level. No team wants to play that kind of program. I don't understand how Kentucky's players tolerate the loss of athletic play in their present up-and-down routine where true competition is never achieved.

The NCAA should reject this corrupted play before other schools reject submitting their programs to participate.

Would LOVE to see a repeat of this!

Every year they've met up in the tournament under Cal, he's sent them home. So it's been intense for awhile.

I wouldn't mind it. It'd suck to lose to them because no matter what we'd hear about it forever (like the Laettner shot).

I don't see Louisville getting to a championship game because they would probably have to beat Duke first.

But IF Louisville was to play 39-0 Kentucky in the final and somehow beat the Cats, Big Blue nation would never, ever, ever get over it. It would be the all-time meltdown. I think you would have Wildcat fans jumping out of buildings.

This scenario very unlikely, of course. Kentucky is just too good.

I wouldn't mind it either as I think UK would win that matchup 99 out of 100 times. The only reason I don't want to play UofL in the championship is because I don't want them to get the satisfaction of making it that far.

With that being said...GO SPARTANS!

I would personally never let you cheaters forget it. I'd get the final score tattooed on my arse, and then drive to Lexington to moon you.

How's that coaching search going since you had to get rid of your latest cheater?
