Smart and Prohm. I think 247 says Crean and Marshall. No one knows

I'd be happy with Smart, Prohm, or Marshall. This tier and higher are only acceptable level for me. Anyone that we have to say "huh?" about is not gonna cut it.
That said, why in the world would Smart want to take over the job Grant just got fired from? I know they didn't coach at Florida or VCU together, but I had assumed they were friends/friendly.

Maybe it's just me, but Smart isn't nearly as exciting of a hire as Marshall would be.

I would be ecstatic with either. I mean they both have great styles. At Wichita it's play angry and it's havoc at VCU.

Yeah I'm sure he's begging for the job. I hope he's not who we end up with though.

Why are people anti-Prohm? I don't know much about him, but he's a winner who knows the south. He's young and energetic and would probably be a better, more willing, community fit than Grant proved to be. Just curious.
(obviously, I prefer Marshall or Smart, but if we "settle" for Prohm I wouldn't be nearly as upset as it sounds like some would be)

Mediocre performances at a piss poor RPI. He's got four ok years at a mid major and nothing else to show for it. Crean, Shaka, Marshall and the other top choices are proven. Prohm is far from that and we would've been better off keeping Grant than hiring Prohm. We have the money for a potentially huge hire and going for Prohm would be passing up on a huge opportunity.

Hasnt really beaten teams with a pulse. He wouldn't even be mentioned had he not been a manager here.
ETA: I guess that would be my biggest gripe: we are only looking at him strictly for his connection to Alabama.

Prohm makes 450,000 a year right now. I bet he is after this job.
on the other hand Bama could probably get him for 1 million a year. Would help pay off the 4 mill we owe grant!
