Tennessee’s COA( cash paid to players) – calculated by the Office of Financial Aid for all students using the Independent Student Allowance method – is $5,666 per year (not counting summer school). That’s $4002 in miscellaneous expenses and $1664 in transportation.
That is $80 more than the next SEC institution – Auburn ($5586). But it is almost $3900 more than Georgia ($1,798), which is on the low end of the SEC spectrum. These numbers are either last year’s figures or projected for the upcoming fiscal year according to information from various websites.
In the SEC, only three schools are over $5000, three schools are in the $4000s, six are in the $3000s and two are below $3000 – Georgia and Vanderbilt ($2,730).

Hope so... we gon get left behind. I kinda thought there would be a standard across the board but apparently every school gets to set it's "costs"...

What I don't get is how state legislatures are going to foot this bill. Outside of LSU which prides itself on being self-sufficient, this is a lot of extra $$$ (at least it is in the case of UTk and Auburn, which is apparently in a bad way financially but is now taking on this, plus a $140 mill stadium renovation) for the states that support these programs to be willing to pour into what are virtually state-based attendance stipends. How will this number not fluctuate for those teams over the years based on funds available to the programs?

It's be cheaper to buy a suit at Goodwill, pretend to be someone important, and sneak in through the media gate. Totally works, BTW.

Looks like another case where our admins have been going the cheap/profitable route. It will be interesting to see if this stipend is increased to match our competition. I would guess at least some recruits are "price" comparing. If I was a recruit on the fence between, Auburn and Georgia, this might well push me over the fence.
