Yes. This way you don't end up like LSU.

How well would a pro-style passer fit in Malzahn's offense?

We have a pro-style QB this year. Watch and see how he does.

He originally committed to Tenn. It's not like he has high standards.

Rutgers is 3rd per TN rivals. OSU/TN battle right now. Coming to Knox on a 2 or 3 day visit on the 22nd I believe.

JG says he will be committed before the start of summer.

So he only has a couple months left.

I think if the visit goes well in March he is a Vol. If not he'll be a Scarlet Knight.

Reading the VQ tea leaves that's what I'm seeing.

National Rivals Update

Scouting report: Last season, Guarantano did not get much help from his teammates, but he was still able to show off his impressive skill set. He is very mobile and has very good straight-line speed. When he's able to stand tall in the pocket, he is very accurate, reads defenses well and when the pocket breaks down, he knows how to escape trouble.

Latest: For a long time, it looked like Ohio State had all of the momentum, and then the momentum switched to Rutgers and then most recently Tennessee. Guarantano will be in Knoxville early next week for a couple days and it would not be surprising if he committed. Ohio State is pushing to get him on campus one more time, but if it is not scheduled before he gets to Knoxville, it could spell trouble for the Buckeyes.

That's big. Do we know if he's here right now or if he gets in this upcoming weekend?

I posted on a thread last week saying I thought that he was Tennessee's to lose based on what I'm hearing. A lot of these quarterbacks run in the same circles, including Kendall and Guarantano, who have the same quarterback coach. This weekend Guarantano will be in Atlanta for both of the Rivals Camp events, the traditional camp on Saturday and the quarterback only even on Sunday. I would expect Paul and company to have tons of content coming, with in-depth stuff on Guarantano specifically.

Woody Wommack

Will be here on Sunday

I just got off the phone with Rivals100 QB Jarrett Guarantano. We talked for a long time about his visit to Tennessee and the key pieces of info are that:

1) Tennessee now holds a slight lead on Rutgers and Ohio State
2) He could commit as early as next week
3) He is unsure of whether or not he will visit Ohio State before committing

Adam Friedman on GuarantanoReply
Performance: Guarantano took home the "Rocket Arm" award and it really wasn't even that close of a contest. Every time he hit a target, it jumped backwards. Guarantano had the best footwork of any quarterback in the rollout drills, looking eerily similar to Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers. He was also very accurate when throwing to the opposite sideline and threw a consistent deep ball.

Unfortunately looks like Urban and Co will get one last shot.

He is going to announce today what day he will commit.

Jarrett is announcing Wednesday the 15th on my 30th birthday.

Hope he picks the Vols over the Buckeyes and Scarlet Knights.

A source close to the staff gave us the latest vibe coming out of the WHAC.

"Guarantano is not coming here," the source said. "He all but said so before he left. Playing early is everything to him. He knows that is not going to happen here. I wanted him even more after this visit. Straight up great kid. Good luck to him at Tennessee.
