Daub is done at FSU
Kain Daub’s time at FSU appeared to be winding down when he did not travel with the team to the Rose Bowl in California.
He is out of the picture now, according to Fisher.
“He’ll probably transfer,” Fisher said.
Several reports have Daub going to East Mississippi Community College.
Daub (6-4, 243) enrolled at FSU last spring as one of the top linebacker prospects in the country. But he seemingly got in worse shape throughout the season and never saw the field despite FSU’s lack of depth at linebacker.
Kid was once committed to LSU and seemingly picked Florida State over Alabama out of high-school. I have to assume he will get another look by both teams, including other SEC teams.

Isn't this the guy that didn't look near as good on film as his rating suggested?

It sounds like he's been a huge bust

LSU likely wants nothing to do with that kid.

EMJC is usually an Alabama feeder JuCo. But Alabama hasn't signed a JuCo LB since 2002. But Kain Daub was once an early commit to Alabama, until Pruit left Alabama to be DC at FSU.

Daub was also an early commit to LSU sounds like both our teams dodged a pointless scolarship

I think I am remembering his recruitment incorrectly. He was committed to LSU, decommitted and was expected to commit to Alabama until Pruitt left Alabama to become DC at FSU after NSD in 2013.

We don't need either. The state of Alabama is filthy loaded at LB for the next class. Like not even fair loaded.

Hoping Auburn can land at least one, maybe 2 depending on who they are.

There's a blast from the past. I remember when this guy was supposed to be the second coming of Ray Lewis.

Huh? Ole Miss has gotten more players from them than Bama has.

quote:His high-school tape was incredible and he appeared to kill kids that were slower than him, but he was exposed badly in college football. He had the athleticism of a 330 pound defensive tackle and was terrible in space. I think he would have been best suited in a 34 defense as an early down thumper (probably would have looked good in Alabama's defense).

He was stiff as a cinder block and it was obvious in his film. If he didn't have to move laterally, he was a nightmare, but any side to side movement was like an old woman out there.
I never understood why he was rated so highly.

he was ok playing at UC the past two years. still slow laterally but he would clobber people that came into his wheel house. guy would have been an all american back in the 70s
