My problem with the list is not LSU at #4, or Ohio State at #1, or Alabama at #7, or Michigan at #6, or Notre Dame at #10. You could create a set of criteria that could justify each of those individually. But there are no criteria that could justify those rankings TOGETHER, and that is what bothers me. He needs to decide what are the most important factors and apply them consistently.

You could define some criteria that might justify LSU at #4 and Bama at #7. That claim by itself is not ridiculous, depending on what you value most. But what could you possibly use to rank LSU at #4 and Alabama at #7, and then put Michigan at #6 and Ohio State at #1?

I believe I have sufficiently shared my butthurt on this, so I'll try to let it go now.

Good post Crimson. Nice explanation....

This list is God awful.

If it's all time then LSU, Florida, FSU, and Oregon should not be in the top 10

If it's current then OSU should be #1, LSU should not be in the top 5, also USC, Florida, Michigan, and Notre Dame should not be here

This list is """"""""""NOT"""""""""" about numbers, wins, bowls, history, tradition, etc. It's THEIR opinion of what the best curernt PROGRAMS are in the country. They're taking into account (in addition to the above criteria) reputation, players sent to the pros, health and financial status ofthe program, impact on recruits and recruiting magnetism, coaching staff, fan and alumni base, location, stadium, etc.

If you don't like theirs, then how

Lsu won a national championship in 1908 before alabama ever won one. So Lsu is superior historically to alabama

Eh... I can live with it, the Muscancer knocked us down a peg, but now that infection has moved on to decimate another program.

So 2 of the top 4 programs in the country were out scored 48-7 by lowly 7-6 Arkansas last year? Must be embarrassing.
