How much will the lower shot clock effect the game next year?

Similar to how the new baseballs are effecting the college baseball game?
This is assuming the forgone conclusion to most that the new 4 foot arc and 30 second shot clock are agreed upon in May after their NIT trial run in a few weeks.
Obviously for teams that like to run and get up and down, this will help them out quite a bit, but the main goal for the NCAA is to get out of its current record breaking lows for scoring and possessions in games.
Expanding the arc under the rim from 3 feet to 4 feet should help the game too.

Shot clock is still too high. They should reduce it to 24 seconds and lengthen the three-point line to 23 feet. This would greatly help the skilled, good shooting teams who play uptempo basketball. The sooner the Bo Ryan/Tony Bennett type basketball teams die out, the better it would be for college basketball.

30 is a good starting point, and then extending the arc out a bit more to keep people further out from the basket will open things up a bit more too.

The current one is 3 feet. Now it will be extended out another foot.

Just extending it. It will keep defenders spaced a little more to free up the congestion under the rim.

The women already use a 30 second shot clock. It is crazy that the men haven't switched to it yet.

Pump the brakes, these arent NBA players, they are college players. 24 seconds is a bit TOO fast and an NBA 3 point line would effectively kill the 3 pointer in college basketball.

It will greatly improve tempo, and I'd actually like to see it be the sxm clock as the pros. But I'll still take it.

This.
30 sounds like a good medium to me between the current clock and the NBA clock. 24 seconds is a fast clock and the NBA is a VERY different animal than college basketball. 24 would be bad for college basketball as far as I'm concerned.
I also enjoy the 3 point line exactly where it is. The line just got pushed back to its current distance not long ago. College basketball had the high school 3 point line for a very long time and the game was still fantastic. The 3 point line is fine.
As for the arc in the paint I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other and will be interested to see how it's extension impacts the game. College basketball is not in need of wholesale overhaul IMO.
Another thing I've always liked about college basketball is the 40 minute game clock. I prefer it to the NBA's 48 minute clock.

To expand on the 3 point line being fine where it is, college teams are sitting around 35% on average for hitting 3's. The average for teams in the NBA is exactly the same, this is why you dont want to move the 3 point line BACK in college.

They do have a 30 second shot clock but they don't have a 10 second rule.

Agreed, they are trying to increase the scoring averages, not set them back
