Already coaching at a football school.

Rick Barnes is probably the most overrated coach in the country.

He's still cashing paychecks from the TJ Ford team.

I'd take Rod Barnes over Rick Barnes in a heartbeat.

I don't know of anyone that likes Rick Barnes.

Obviously having watched UK play them, they've got some talent. Hell they've got a ton of length and size. There's absolutely no good reason they should be on the skid that they're on right now.
If he can't do it with talent, he sure as shite won't be able to do it without. He'd be one of the worst choices that Alabama could make. They'd be better off going and trying to get somebody like Howland before Barnes.

Take a run at him? I assume you mean in the sense of running him over in the parking lot or something right?

Agreed, great recruiter, shitty coach.

Belle, aren't you still pissed that UK didn't end up with Barnes? Would have been a solid hire for y'all
I actually don't think he'd be terrible at Bama because he could bring some recruits there with all the solid pro players he has coached. He just hasn't coached them very well.

We're not striving for mediocrity, we've had that for too long.

Howland would be a solid hire if he still has some fire. I grew up watching the Pac12 and he definitely is a better coach than his exit suggests.

I want Howland at a&m, even if I am biased

I've never been happier to see someone withdraw his name from consideration before he was even considered.

I think he would have decent success at Bama, and really just needs a change of scenery. Texas was terrible before Barnes got there and he actually put them back on the map. He just hasn't had the coaching ability to put them over the top.

If Howland ended up at Bama I would be legit pissed. I don't think there are a lot of elite coaches looking for a chance this year but Holland is close to that category

Texas hasn't been a football school since A&M joined a real conference.

I am betting Belle would feel the same way as I do, we gladly have taken 2 shitty years with Clyde the Drunk for this run with Cal. It was a long 2 years, but well worth the suffering
