Anyone outside of a Kentucky fan who really thinks this is just a jealous POS. No question Bama's accomplishment is far greater. Kentucky is running the SeC in a sport where NO One is historically relevant. Meanwhile, Bama has done their feat in the toughest conference of all time.......

Since this is the SEC (football conference), I'd take the 24 in football over the 46 in hoops.

FTR, KY basketball has won almost as many SEC's as the rest of the conference combined.

Football is way more competitive in the SEC top to bottom than basketball is.

In historical terms in basketball it's Kentucky as the Harlem Globetrotters and everybody else are the Washington Generals.

Figures. This is the accurate lists, minus UK's newest one of course.

We have 7, not 5.

Agree. SEC is much more competitive in basketball than it is in football. Bama's record is just an example of a walk over.

Bama leads the SEC in titles in Football and is top three or four in titles in basketball and second in tourney titles. That is more impressive than Kentucky because they have rarely done anything in Football. Also we all know the SEC programs overall put more resources and focus on football so it naturally has been way more competitive over the years than basketball. Kentucky wouldn't have near that many titles if they played in the ACC or other big time basketball conferences that have more depth. Many years like this year it is Kentucky and a huge drop off to the 2nd best team. The gap isn't nearly that wide in football.

Also bama not having 46 football titles is one reason the SEC is looked at as the best football conference and nowhere near the best in basketball.

You can easily argue that 6 charter members are top 15 all-time in football. Can't say the same for basketball.

By that chart, Auburn and former member Ga Tech are equal to the mighty Hogs in SEC basketball. All have 2 regular season titles and 1 tournament title.

Kentucky's, but that doesn't trivialize Alabama's accomplishments. They are both superb.

Yeah when I say my opinions that Alabama's is better, it in no way means Kentucky's isn't crazy impressive because it is of course.

It's literally an apples to oranges comparison so it's subjective and clearly both programs have been a benchmark of mostly consistent excellence in the league in their respective sports.

I think Alabama would've won 7 SEC titles in the 90s if it wasn't for Florida.

I pull for UK when they play basketball because they make the SEC look so good.

Your women are killing #2 SC.

I'm not sure which is more impressive, but I'd rather have 24 football titles over 46 basketball titles.
