Will Your School Have Recruits Sign FA Papers, Then flip, To F Over Rivals?

I gotta say, that's a pretty great strategy. Well done Bama.
Basically:
1. You get a recruit who is 100% "unofficially" committed to your team in the summer, to commit to another school.
2. That school gives him the Financial Aide Papers, so they can have unlimited contact.
3. Then you have the kid sign those papers.
4. Next the kid flips to your school and enrolls with your school.
5. Then you report to the SEC and NCAA that your student athlete signed FA Papers with the rival school.
6. Profit
I don't think Spurrier or our Coaches would do this, not even to clemson. Hopefully the next coach is more cutthoat though...but I doubt the rule lasts until the summer.

To be fair, I don't think Matt Womack deserves any blame here.

It really maybe the most assinine rules ever. Imagine this
1.Invite person you dont like over for dinner
2. Decide when they come over you dont want them at dinner
3. Call cops and get them arrested for breaking and entering

Props to them for exploiting a rule. Shocked Gus wasn't the first to do it.

Oh I totally agree, this is f'ing dirty, and I think it's funny that it's happening to y'all, but I don't expect this to stick. They'll rescind these sanctions by the summer.
Although, you could totally do your alternate example, just need to call from a burner phone and then destroy it.

The funny thing to me is I have a feeling that the only reason they took Womack was to pull of this scheme. He's not even that good.

This is typical Bama tactics when it comes to recruiting

A recruit’s decision not to enroll at LSU after signing a financial aid agreement has the football program in some hot water.
LSU is banned from signing early enrollee recruits to financial aid agreements for the next two years, and the program will be stripped of 10 percent of its recruiting evaluation days in 2015, according to public records obtained by The Advocate.
The penalties, handed down by the Southeastern Conference and reported by the school Feb. 3, stem from a violation that occurred this fall involving an unnamed recruit.
The recruit signed a financial aid agreement with LSU intending to enroll early in January, but he decided not to enroll at the school. That makes at least some of LSU’s unlimited contact with the prospect illegal.
LSU officials declined comment.
quote:
Matt Womack, an offensive tackle from Mississippi, signed a financial aid agreement with LSU in August intending to enroll at the school in January. Instead, Womack de-committed — as hundreds of prospects do each year — and signed a National Letter of Intent with Alabama in February.
Financial aid agreements, instituted by the NCAA in the fall of 2013, allow high school seniors who plan to enroll early to sign with that school starting Aug. 1 of their senior years.
A financial aid agreement doesn’t bind the player to that particular school like a National Letter of Intent does, but it affords coaches of that school unlimited contact with the signee — contact that would normally be considered against NCAA rules.

Recruit was gonna end up at Bama the whole time, but he wanted to flirt with LSU.

I'm only disappointed that we didn't do this to Tennessee or Auburn first.

There's a kids future in the balance here. Anybody who would do something this douchey really needs some ramification. possibly legal. breach of contract or something.

Actually the FA agreement needs to be modified to bind the kid to the school for one academic year. that would stop this shite cold.

Then why the hell did LSU let him sign a FAA?

Congrats as always to Bama for being pure slime.
