They're trying to retake what's rightfully theirs.

Watson and Jowers were arrested by Morehouse College police on Oct. 8 for possession of marijuana. When Watson and Jowers' shared dorm room was searched by Morehouse College police, inside the room a printer, computers, labeled and unlabeled checks and debit cards not issued in the names of either Watson or Jowers were found and obtained, as were three cell phones, according to the warrant.

After the phones in the room had been obtained, a search warrant was executed that confirmed two of the phones had numbers associated with Watson and Jowers. The present search warrant in question, the one that seeks to search Mauger and Langley, is to discern whether or not Langley and Mauger ever communicated with the two Morehouse students.

When shown photos of the men later identified as Watson and Jowers, both Mauger and Langley said they could not identify the men and that if the men were asked about their involvement in the case, Watson and Jowers would both testify that Mauger and Langley were not involved in the proceedings.

Mauger and Langley also said they are unaware how Watson, Jowers or either of the other two people in the Bank of America security photos came to access their account cards and their PINs.

Mauger reported the checks had been deposited and withdrawn from his account between July 4 and July 5, 2014. Langley also reported suspicious transactions to have taken place on those dates and said that he first noticed they had happened between four and six days later.

Seems like the UGA players reported the suspicious activity b/c they didn't know how the hell money was appearing in their accounts.

The dudes arrested were probably using stolen accounts to hide that they were selling drugs. There are probably several more accounts that they have been putting cash into as well.

If by "UGA trouble" you mean the Red & Black doing their usual best AJC impression and trying to drum up shite where there is none.

How is a search warrant newsworthy? Let me know when something of substance actually warrants my time.

Georgia is the biggest two faced university in the SEC. They pretend to be high and mighty yet they commit more crimes and cheat their arse off behind the scenes than anyone. Karma is the only reason they havent won a Championship since 1980

I worked there for two years.

Yes, they make shite up.

ETA... it's not ran by the university, it is 100% privately owned and has been independent since 1980.

So the R&B is corporate owned? Might as well be the NY times or any other fish wrap then. Sad to hear actually.

While, yes, they do have a history of fabricating details for stories, I'm not saying they're making these details up. What I am saying is that they're using an investigation in which a former and current player are merely being questioned in part of to suggest that they're complicit in the activities. They have a clear agenda in the article.

But none of those reports came from a University sponsored organization.

Correct. In fact, it's gotten so bad over there that a year or two ago, the entire student staff walked out. The folks that run it do so in the same way that the AJC runs their paper: toss out veiled accusations against the popular kids in town and watch the page hits roll in from both the haters and supporters alike.

Why did these two individuals just happen to choose football players as part of their activities. How many other students are on UGAs campus? Just a random coincidence ?
