In August 2013, the district announced — to the great dismay of the teachers union — a dress code that would require teachers to wear underwear. Every single day. Female teachers would have to wear bras, too. And the very worst of all: No spandex.

How is this going to be enforced?

I'm sure the required bra thing is sorely needed. What's the obesity rate in Arkansas again?

“Tattoos must be covered if at all possible.” No flip-flops. “No see-through or sheer clothing.” No jogging suits, either (though gym and dance teachers got a pass on that one).

The tattoo bit is going to be interesting for folks who have been employed with the district and have tattoos on their necks, wrists, etc.

I will say our dress code is pretty vague. It's just addressed as "appropriate dress/dress casual". And I've only seen one person written up for it and that's because she was wearing spandex dresses that were pretty shear working in a classroom with middle school boys.

Common sense would say though that you don't dress like a whore for a bunch of kids.

Do they let you wear a tarp to work, or do you have to put on real clothes?

Are/is.

I'm sure the education system will certainly collapse over a singular grammatical error.

That kind of attitude is ruining our public school system.

Chaos theory only requires a breath of a grammatical error,

LRSD is a mess of desegregation-related useless employees and lifetime system parasites. The best solution for LRSD and Little Rock would be to break that district up into a few smaller ones.

Little Rock actually has a lot going for it as a city. Its public school system holds it back in a lot of ways.

Are they going to check everyday for panties?

I'm trying to figure out how this came about. Did a teacher bend over in a skirt in class and show some pooty or what?

I don't think most company policies state specifically to wear underwear. Kind of weird.

Knowing some of the teachers I've worked with, they've probably bent over in front of students without them or wear clothes short enough/tight enough that it's obvious.

I'd never wear underwear again if I was a teach just to stick it to the man. Then if I got fired I would go to the Dr and explain that I can't wear underwear due to an extremely sensitive peen that undergarments irritate and sue the state. Because $.

Little Rock west of 430 and Maumelle should each be granted their own school districts and gotten out of the whole LRSD/PCSD mess. Both would instantly become two of the wealthiest school districts in the state. They'd produce some of the best schools, too.
