I say go 12-6 in sec play and win 2 sec tournament games which would put bama in ncaa tournament.
Anything less and he gone.
The bad news is bama is 3-4 in sec play and would have to go 9-2 to finish regular season and one of those losses will happen Saturday in Lexington.
Bama will probably go 8-10 in sec play or 9-9 and go to nit.
Grant gone

Too late.... His coaching stint at Bama is over.

This isn't a flame in any way but alabama isn't making the tourny. If that's what it takes to save his job he's done

I'm not sure how that's bad news for anyone except Grant.

All he has to do it make it to the NIT because Paul Bryant Jr is a horses arse and doesn't want for anything to take even the smallest amount of attention away from the football team.

It's really tough to guess how the AD is thinking about Grant.
I would be tempted to say that he'd need to make the tourney this season but I'm also not too sure.
I could see a decently strong finish, getting to 10-8 SEC 20-11 overall, making them very reluctant to pull the trigger.
Just to play devil's advocate I think some may make the argument that a coaching change would at least likely mean a brief setback (and could be a disaster) whereas Alabama at, say, 20-11 would have been 1 or 2 last possession baskets away from a NCAA bid.

Honest question. What is Grant's buyout and contract situation? Bama cant afford to spend money on any other sport than football these days.

Call Al or Jesse and tell them that Bama is firing him because he's black. That should get him an extension with a hefty raise and Al will get that AD job he's been wanting.

Win the SEC tourney.

The Bama AD can "afford" to do whatever the hell they want. Grant makes more than a lot of more successful coaches as it is. SEC schools have a lot of money. If they can get a better coach, the buyout isn't going to matter much. The ROI investment is worth the buyout.

We are building a $30M new baseball stadium, but yea we only spend $$$ on football.

In 2013 (last year available) the Alabama athletic department reported $27 million in profit on revenues of $143 million.
They can afford to spend money on pretty much anything they please.
