And be realistic(unlike Mizzou fans who thought they could get Greg Marshall or Shaka Smart). If the coach has turned down a bigger program like UCLA, you aren't getting them

My short list:

Ray Harper, WKU
Brian Wardle, Wisc-Green Bay
Steve Prohm, Murray State
Mike Young, Wofford
Brad Underwood, Stephen F. Austin
Marvin Menzies, New Mexico State

I'd avoid Ron Hunter at Georgia State even if they figure things out and make an NCAA tourney run - he has the 3 best players in the Sun Belt and 2 NBA draft picks and has already lost 3 Sun Belt games.

Yea, he has, but people who are connected seem to think that he is a pretty viable candidate. We'll see.

I'm starting to think LSU and Bama might have been better off keeping Brady and Gottfried at this point

Not to mention Stansbury could replace Kennedy at A&M as well

Agree. Alabama was unrealistic in thinking they could get a guy like Saban to come coach their football team. They need to be a bit more realistic this time.

Bama pays Grant more than AU pays Pearl. Point being that Bama pays their bball coach well and can lure a talented "name" coach under the right circumstances.

Be realistic...Psh. Shoot for the moon quietly and then be realistic if you have to later.

Nah. Gottfried had gotten lazy and complacent and had become a huge jackass since making the Elite 8. He was a jackass before, but he became a bigger one. Plus he was enjoying the company of some women that were not his wife. It was time for him to go.

There isn't enough room in the state of Alabama for Bob Knight's and Nick Saban's egos...

Grant though was not worth the money he was getting when he was hired.

Ben Howland, he'll have Bama playing what its historically best at---rebounding and great defense. He has connections to midwest and west coast for under the radar/the occassional star talent.

Longshot---Archie Miller.
