More of a result of them not having a ton of juniors to give in the first place, but out of 9 guys who could realistically make it to the NFL this year, keeping 6 is awesome for LSU.

So we have a 4 year cycle where we keep most of our juniors. Guess i'll take it.
O Line should be really strong again.

... sooooo you're saying you guys should be good next year? What happens after another 3-5 loss season?

Or in other words, your head coach is the equivalent of what the Falcons just had in Mike Smith. A good guy, decent head coach but at the end of the season, doesn't really cut it. But please, be my guest, sign him to an extension.

LSU losing 5-10 juniors per year was the only thing keeping Bama ahead of LSU. Your fear is palpable.

Well, after going 8-5 in 2002, LSU went 13-1 and won the national championship in 2003, and went 9-3, 11-2, 11-2 and then 13-1 with another national championship in 2007.

Then, after going 8-5 in 2008, LSU went 9-4, 11-2, 13-1 with an 'appearance' in the BCSCG, then 10-3 and 10-3.

Those are the only times in their history that LSU went 8-5. But if the trend holds true, after this 8-5 season, we should get ready for tIncline.

But I thought LSU didn't have any good players and all you needed was Coach O to come in and sign some studs?

So confused.

The Sugar Bowl was the high point of the season for LSU fans.

So Mike Smith won the Superbowl and played in another?

You guys are so mad after your second bowl loss in a row. Take every dig you can against other teams to mask your pain.

Here I was thinking the vast disparity in recruiting and coaching was doing that. Thanks for clearing it up. Guess there's no doubt now that Anthony Jennings lights up the scoreboard next year in Bryant-Denny.

Well we know Bama's secondary sure as hell won't be stopping him.

its true that LSU has lost many players due to early NFL entry. heck almost a full recruiting class over the last 5 years. I used to be of a mind that was sort of a good problem to have, as it meant you were recruiting talented players. LSU fans reminded me of this reason as well, every chance they got. But I got to thinking about that thing. Bama has outrecruited LSU every year since Saban got there. yet...Bama doesn't have this problem of underclassmen bolting for the NFL, at least not to the extent that LSU has. I would be curious to know why that is.

Vast disparity in recruiting? Riiiiiiight
So to YOUUUUUUU, LSU getting the #2 recruiting class last year and several Top 5 classes since Miles arrived a decade ago just like.......never happened ??????????????? Miles has had a Top 10 class at worst in most of his tenure at LSU, and this year and next year will be no different.

Vast disparity in coaching ?
Saban is 6-3 vs Miles; but in those 9 games, only TWO were not decided in the last minute or even the final seconds. Name another coach who has played Saban straight up in 7 of 9 meetings..
Miles could easily be 6-3 or at worst 5-4 vs Saban.
