He's a very good recruiter. Not so much on the field coach

reddit twitted out yesterday that he actually contacted Auburn about the job. A lot of people thought that tweet was bs, but I guess it was true. I don't know what kind of coach he is, but I know he is fantastic recruiter

oh yeah, espn recently named him as the #1 best recruiter among assistant coaches in all of college football

There's only so much disappointment that can be had for hiring a LB coach, so that's a positive. But overall, yeah, not my favorite hire ever.

I just feel like every coach we have on D is known for being a recruiter and not known for being an excellent coach (except Muschamp)...wish our position coaches were better position coaches

Eh, at least we have Muschamp. If the idea is that we have the DC, let's go pile up the talent, then I'm ok with it.

I kind of feel this way as well, but hoping I am wrong or Boom can help overcome this. Would love to know the back story to Barrow.

Saban must not have wanted him, that's the only reason any coach ever leaves his staff.
