Do you think that Bama playing at the Hoover Met this season gives them an advantage in the SEC tourney considering its played there? (provided they make the tourney)

I think it will.

No I believe the team with the best pitchers, hitters, and coaching will have the advantage.

Bama probably won't even make the SECt. So, no.

I thought I saw a poster on Tiger Rant say they were moving the fences in a little bit for the Bama games.
Yes, I know, the internet. Bonjour.

It is possible, but playing at the Hoover Met is going to be a disadvantage for them unless their pitching and fielding is lights out. I don't think they will be very good, but baseball is fluid, so we'll see.

I thought they were returning some pitching, but I could be mistaken. I dont follow them that close.

Their program isn't easy to follow, so I get it. I think Kamplin signed with the Yankees so that was a big loss for them this season. Burrows is back. Who knows. Playing in the Met I think will be tough.

I'll probably go when LSU comes to town.

Jon Keller returns, and I expect Taylor Guilbeau to get some starts. The bullpen will be deeper, just need to develop a third consistent starter.

Overall, Bama should be slightly improved over last year.

Alabama lost too much to be considered a lock for post-season play. And I'm pretty sure Alabama is playing at Regions Park and not the Met for this season.

I wasn't aware the city council had approved it. I thought there were hang ups over the contract.

I dont know about that but their schedule shows the Met.

I personally think that the familiarity of playing there all season will give the Tide an edge in the tourney.

BUMP:

So Bama made the tournament, but playing in Hoover did not provide them with any type of advantage it seems. I was impressed they won a couple of games. Good job, Ole Miss and Missouri.

I'll be interested to see what, if anything, is done with Gaspard. Lot of media folk have his back saying he deserves to open the new ballpark.
