Watching LSU play Notre Dame, Bama OSU, AU Wisc.
it was pretty obvious those teams have begun recruiting the same type of athlete the SEC has been recruiting for years. I remember watching SEC teams play OSU, Notre Dame, and they look like they were running in mud compared to us. It was a joke how much faster SEC teams were compared to those teams. Notre Dame, OSU and the likes were significantly faster than in the past. It reminds me of how Skip changed the landscape of the conference in his day. So it looks like the dominant days of the SEC are fading. Just my Opinion

It's one fresking season. actuslky one bowl season. But yet we had dominated over regular season. But that doesn't count anymore. It's like saying Clemson is a better program than us since they beat us

The spread is taking over time for SEC schools to adapt

The defense at every SEC school has been down the last two seasons. Just not seeing the typical D-line from LSU, Bama, Auburn and it has made all the difference. Most other defensive positions are still very high caliber but the line at most SEC programs has lost its strength.

Defensively our dominance is done. The spread has completely exposed our Defenses. The issue with LSU specifically is that we have went smaller on Defense to try and defend these faster offenses, but we haven't changed our Offense from when it has been when CLM first got here.

Simplify LSU's offense and spread the defense out. Should be no reason that it should take 2 years for a Quarterback to really understand our system. Urban Meyers has done this at OSU which is why he has been wildly successful with almost anyone who gets under Center.

Yep - leave it to the two Alabama teams to blow the streak and screw it up...

Thanks Bama!

Right there with ya. I do believe how well the conference performs will somewhat effect recruiting but overall could careless about bama or anyone else winning anything. The SEC hype only helps other conferences get up for games against the SEC in pointless bowls. You wont here shite about the SEC except, how bad they played in bowl games, next season

Alabama, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina and A&M all with new quarterbacks his year. Really expected Auburn to win the SEC with that adjustment for their main competition. This was an expected down year based on skill positions that left.

On a serious note... I don't think that's the case.

SEC dominance did itself in. There's only so many stud DL players every year and they use to go to 2-3 SEC schools. Now that is spread out over about 6-7.

As the conference got better the second tier guys started putting heavy emphasis on better coaches and better recruiting... it diluted the product.

These things are cyclical...look for SEC parity to be replaced again with 2-4 dominant teams in another few years.

Urban brought fast D line play to the Big 10. All of this thanks to T. Pryor and Sweater Vest being lying sacks of dung and getting fired. Urban will transform the way the Big 10 plays and oh by the way he will have superior QB play even out of an "undeveloped" 3rd teamer.

That's ok. It was getting boring - like beating up on your younger brother all the time. Now it will be real competition again and that's good for everybody.
