Watching ESPNU Film Room and Sims is just dropping bombs in these highlights.

The passes to Cooper against UF and AU look to be about 55 and 57 yards in the air, to me. God damn.

Remember when we thought he didn't have the arm

I'll be honest; if he does end up going to the draft i'd like for him to be picked up by the Seahawks. He doesn't have a cannon like Russell Wilson but their playstyles and builds are very similar.

Nice form. Doesn't hurt that Cooper can burn pretty much any secondary he wants at will, freeing Sims to take chances on his long bombs.

I was about to say the same thing. I thought it was funny as hell when I heard an ESPN analyst (can't remember who) said after the Auburn game that Sims is the best deep throw passer in the country. The funny part is he may be right.

That's some funny stuff! "Google him. How 'bout that." 'Michael Vick with an arm".

I had serious doubts about Sims going into the season but it's been entertaining watch him get better as the season went on. Congrats Gumps.

AJ McCarron had me believing that the deep ball was like a 3 point shot. You're not going to make most of them, but it's good to keep the defense honest.

Blake Sims makes most of them.

What does Cooper getting free have to do with the fact Sims literally throws a perfect deep ball?

No matter what you can't take that from him. He literally drops those things in so the receivers don't even have to break stride.

We've never had that at Alabama.

Not trying to take anything from him. I'm observing that Cooper's ability to get separation and run flawless routes means Blake (and the coaches) can feel more confident taking those long passes. When you have a receiver who can't do that, it becomes a much more fraught process unless you're Mike Evans and can wrestle your QB's risky throws away from the defenders. So Amari really gives Blake a chance to show off his ability.

I was epically wrong about Blake Sims. I don't think I've ever been more wrong about anything in my entire life.

Except maybe that DG that one time.

Blake Sims is a better QB and athlete than AJ will ever be.

It works both ways. I could say Blake's perfect throws gives Coop a chance to show off his ability.

Last year we were like 1 in every 5 in deep passes and no one saw this level of Coop.

Then you say you're not trying to take anything from him.

Nope. You're even more wrong with that thread you made on the rant about us losing tonight.

We will win and SMH at you.

Still have nightmares about his terrible deep throws against Auburn 2013.

Perfect analogy on the three-point shot by grevious angel.
