Grades just came out. Seems like the reason

Wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie isn't practicing with Georgia's team here in Charlotte. UGA and Mark Richt have not yet confirmed the reason for McKenzie's absence, but there were rumbles leading up to the bowl trip that an academic issue could be sidelining the freshman return specialist. We'll have more from Richt after Friday's practice.

Kinda blows my mind that they can't stay eligible. These are the easy classes and they have tutors at their disposal as well as mandatory study hours.

I'm not. Lots of the kids are at least two grade levels of where they currently are.

Seth Emerson ?@SethEmerson 5m5 minutes ago News: UGA freshman Isaiah McKenzie is suspended for the Belk Bowl. It's not academics or drugs, per Mark Richt, just discipline.

"Isaiah will not play in this game. Isaiah has got a one-game suspension," Richt said after Friday's bowl practice. "It's not an academic eligibility issue. It's not a drug issue or anything like that. It's more of an in-house, taking-care-of-business issue. But he'll be back in January. He'll just miss this game."

Can't be too serious, still weird.

He seemed like a kid who had his shite together, but that is inexcusable.

Hopefully he learns a lesson or else he will become a distraction and will need be dropped quicker than pass headed his way...

I'm guessing he was late to show up for the bus to the airport or he didn't attend all the cardio/stamina sessions in early December

Missed tutoring sessions, per Gentry.

McKenzie has the reputation of being a bit of a wild card. This seems pretty minor though

Not a big loss IMHO. I hold my breath every time he touches the ball.

If the ball came to him by way of foot, the kid is a stud and has a chance to take it to the house every time.

However if the ball happens to travel to him by way of hand, the kid turns into lobster hands and the play is over after another I-MAC incomplete pass.

Really scientific stuff here.

Funny I always get lots of downvotes when I mention how shitty of a receiver Imac is, but now that he missed some study sessions, it's popular opinion, general consensus, common sense.

You people are unbelievable.

Please point me in the direction of someone defending I-MAC's play as a receiver. I would like to personally lambast them.

The kid sucked as a receiver all year. Him not taking meetings seriously may have something to do with that also.

Haven't seen it. I'm well aware he has had at least one return for a TD but from my perspective he's too much like Carlton Thomas with a bad combination of not enough speed for his small size and is not sure handed at all.
