I have only watched bits and pieces of OSU this year but I didn't realize their offense was so special. Especially without JT Barrett. At any rate, I don't think he's giving enough credit to Bama's playmakers.

Doesn't really matter. OSUs offense will be facing Bamas defense, not our offense

If they are it's only marginally. Their rushing attack is legit; fortunately we have the best run stopping unit in the nation. My one concern (outside of the possibility of Cardale Jones going all Trevor Knight on us) is that our offense comes out sluggish and they play ball control similar to LSU.

Shits going the way of 2012 ND. They talked about ND's defense like it was one of the greatest of all time. Idiots.

There is definitely a middle ground, but the talking heads are starting to get the ball rolling on this OSU is dominant shite. Just like they did with ND.

The talking point are getting a bit ridiculous. Bosa on a freshman, oh no! Cam Robinson is a BEAST. That'll be a fun matchup, but listening to people talk about it you'd think Bosa is gonna wreck Alabama's entire gameplan.

When did OSU get this amazing offense and defense? Since when has Jones been a legendary deep ball thrower? OSU gonna have Sammy Coates and Duke Williams running go routes all night? I just don't see it.

IMO Alabama has a better offense and defense. Can't wait for the game. From what I've seen, OSU fans are awesome and really underrated as far as good fanbases go.

He often plays a free lancing and undisciplined style of play. This can be used against him with the right play calling. He can essentially very easy just take himself out of the play.

Actually its not only my opinion but the mod on buckeye planet who is one of the more intelligent cf fans ive come across on the internet.

quote:

OSU has a top-20 pick at DT (Bennett), an athletic DT alongside him in Washington (former 5 star DE) and a well known star in Bosa. They lost Noah Spence to a lifetime ban for PED use (Ecstasy), he was history early this year. In his place they have two solid but unspectacular guys in Miller and Frazier. Their two weaknesses are at DT (they have two 3-techs starting with little depth behind them) and discipline. Bosa can be the best defender in the country but also freelance and leave his team out to dry. Bennett and Washington are two ultra athletic DTs but the opposition can use that against them, letting them blow past the rushing play and getting extra bodies on the limited LBs.

They are just propping this game up so people will watch. If it goes as forecasted (by Vegas) Alabama will not really be challenged. Of the outcome is a foregone conclusion then why would anyone watch?

That's kinda the risk/reward that comes with being a rush defensive end. IF you see a chance to cut down inside or go hard to the outside you leave you lane and make your team vulnerable to an off tackle rush or the QB scramble. That's just the nature of the position.

Bosa has been criticized to the other extent more than anything. Taking on double teams and maintaining his rush lanes as opposed to pinning his ears back and get the QB at all costs.

There is truth however to the two 3 techniques that Ohio State has. Both Washington and Bennett are 3 tech guys, but Washington has settled into his role well and we all saw what happened against Wisconsin. That switch happened only a few weeks before that game.

Bosa can dominate a game when given the freedom to make things happen and our LBs just have to suck up and make plays which they have done to some extent all year and it culminated in our most recent shut out of a rush heavy Wisconsin team.

Why should anyone watch any game if all we have to do is go by the Vegas line?

Playing Big 10 defenses and averaging only 12 more yards per game is not better, it is far worse.

I think their defensive line gives us fits and they have a receiver that can stretch the field. If we win, it will be close. I think we will have to pull it out in the 4th quarter kind of close. We are not dominant on the OL like years past.

They are good enough. Mizzouri's was as good or better, and although Shane Ray got ejected, I doubt he would have made much of a difference.

I don't know. he had gotten free twice. Ohio state I think is being overlooked by the fan base a little because they were not watched much this year. People remember two games a route against a one dimensional Wisconsin team and a loss to Virginia Tech. I hope or defensive line his their quarterback plenty or they will just throw deep all game. We still have not proven we can cover a receiver down the field.

We did just fine with this up until the last couple of games in which we gave up more 30+ yard passing plays than we had the entire season prior. They're clearly capable of doing it as they were amongst the nation's best prior to those two games.

The issues in each game really weren't related (caught peeking into the backfield a couple of time vs Auburn; lost contain a few times vs Mizzou and no one can cover for that long) so I see no reason to expect it to be a continuing trend.

"The reality is" Alabama is much better on both sides of the ball. Does that mean we win comfortably? Not necessarily. But I think we cruise to a 13+ victory.
