Sorry guys.

n 2004, scholars at UCLA revealed that college students involved in religious activities are likely to have better mental health. In 2006, population researchers at the University of Texas discovered that the more often you go to church, the longer you live. In the same year researchers at Duke University in America discovered that religious people have stronger immune systems than the irreligious. They also established that churchgoers have lower blood pressure.
quote:
2009 a team of Harvard psychologists discovered that believers who checked into hospital with broken hips reported less depression, had shorter hospital stays, and could hobble further when they left hospital – as compared to their similarly crippled but heathen fellow-sufferers.
quote:
In the last few years scientists have revealed that believers, compared to non-believers, have better outcomes from breast cancer, coronary disease, mental illness, Aids, and rheumatoid arthritis. Believers even get better results from IVF. Likewise, believers also report greater levels of happiness, are less likely to commit suicide, and cope with stressful events much better. Believers also have more kids.
quote:
So which is the smart party, here? Is it the atheists, who live short, selfish, stunted little lives – often childless – before they approach hopeless death in despair, and their worthless corpses are chucked in a trench (or, if they are wrong, they go to Hell)? Or is it the believers, who live longer, happier, healthier, more generous lives, and who have more kids, and who go to their quietus with ritual dignity, expecting to be greeted by a smiling and benevolent God?

I seldom attend church for myraid reasons but I have a personal relationship with God. I have seen firsthand the power of prayer and know that miracles happen. I also think that believing in God and the Bible gives people a moral code. Those who have no moral code are truly dangerous people.

Looks like I'll end up in my hole in the ground faster than you. Oh well, at least I get to sleep in on Sunday's.

Funny. I haven't even had so much as the common cold in years. I also lead a very content life. Funny how these studies work...

Ignorance is surely bliss, this proves it.

BUT we get to sleep in on Sunday and have premarital relations

In fairness, an n of 1 is not exactly conclusive evidence

Causation =/= correlation. There are so many confounders in this study it isn't even worth discussing.

My short, selfish, and stunted little life has been great. And I don't spend all my time worshipping some false magical fairy tale in the sky.
So
So

So what if you are wrong? Ever thought about that?

So are you saying that I should believe in God simply for fear of going to Hell?
That's a pussy reason to believe. If I'm wrong and I go to Hell, then your stupid judgmental God is selfish in that he judges by belief and not actual character or actions during life.

Most people that are diagnosed with ALS die within 5 years. Stephen Hawking was diagnosed 50 years ago.
I had family members that were uber-religious that ate themselves into an early grave.
Strange.

I'd say if you had any sense at all you would give it some serious thought.
Lots of anger coming from you so it's obvious this is hitting home. That means there is hope for you which is a good thing.

Stop evangelizing, it is really grating and transparent.

I read a study that said the same thing about arseholes. It all makes sense now.

If I were God, I'd condemn you to hell for your potty mouth, mister.
But I'm not so I won't.
