I can't believe what we saw this year in the SECW can be sustained long-term. I mean, like the top five teams could all have won some of the other conferences let alone the SEC. It cannot last. Just can't. The SECW has to come down for this peak. Some teams (read: Bama) will stay elite, but the rest will return to mediocrity.

So how and when will the collapse happen? I predict it will happen quickly, like the USSR after Reagan broke their backs. Teams cannot keep paying their assistants HC money. And all the top recruits can't agglomerate in just one division.

I see teams raiding Saban's assistants for more HC jobs. I see Florida's and Tennessee's resurgence spelling more 'L's for the cross division opponents (Sorry Ole Miss and LSU!). I see Muschamp bringing his bad MoJo to Auburn....

Oh, and Miles to Michigan...

What would Florida know about an arms race when every time one of the big2 sport HC jobs is open they have to gamble on an up and comer due to the lack of interest from established HCs?

the west can and will keep this up. the aggots might fall by the way side and miss a bowl but the west runs things now.

The same thing was said in 2011 when Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas were 1, 2 and 3 in the BCS. It's been almost 4 years since then...

the east will learn that it is a jv league at some point. you would think the beatings they have been handed since 09 would make that point clear. 09 bama makes tebow cry, 10 auburn goes in with some cammy cam juice on usc. 11 LSU runs uga out of the dome, 12 bama toys with uga emotions, 13 auburn blast mizzou, 14 bama runs mizzou of the the building. 5 out of the last 6 title games have been beat downs from the west to the east. maybe another 10 years and the sec will wise up and make the sec champ the winner of the west and the sec title game will be 7th place west team vs top east team for the right to be in the west.

I think Bama and LSU have caused the west teams to step up their game.

The East needs someone to step up to make the other teams raise their level.

No offense to the east, but there seems to be a more hard nosed, defensive brand of football on the west side, less ATM.And ATM is trying to correct that,Auburn as well.

But the west has been down before so I reckon it will happen again".

Not true.

Top two? I could buy that but top 5? Nope.

Huh? Why is this the narrative?

It was a 45-42 game going into the 4th quarter and we gave up a short field TD turning the ball over on downs trying to go for it in the 4th.

Auburn beat us but we didnt get "blasted"

I guess the truth doesnt fit the narrative.

These threads are dumb. The SEC West will remain good as long as the coaching is good. That doesn't mean I am saying the SEC West will always be the best division since that stuff is cyclical, but the SEC West will always have an elite team even post Saban days.

Like it happens every year. Alabama has replaced at least two assistants every year since 2007.
