Nothing brings out the family drama like the Christmas holidays. This thread is to share some of that drama with your fellow posters.

No drama yet in my family except nobody wanting to go to our normal Christmas Eve dinner at a family friend's house because he's a raging alcoholic that only wants to talk about how sorry his daughter's ex-husband is.

Potential blow-ups may occur over one or more of the following:

1. Gay cousin bringing his boyfriend to meet the family for the first time. Got a couple of big homophobes in the family.
2. My lush aunt(she actually curbed the drinking 6 or 7 years ago when she got married) is coming without her husband. Apparently there's trouble in paradise and is possibly linked to her drinking again.
3. There's always the potential for my sister-in-law's(wife's brother's wife) white trash father to crash our Christmas morning breakfast at her house. My FIL can't stand him and has gotten in a fist fight with him before(he called my MIL a dumb bitch so he deserved the arse beating he got).

Tis the season!!

Fortunately, I will only have my kids on Christmas so I won't have to deal with any crazy in laws.

Roll tide.

No drama here. My parents are boring but good people.

I'm sure that thinking being a gay is a sin is homophobia. Obviously the exact same thing.

Neither one I'm talking about are religious in the least. They legit hate gay people. They're just a couple of small town Alabama rednecks that have never really been around gay folks except for my cousin.

Fair enough. I recant and apologize. My mom and dad are a legit baptist homophobes.

I think it's sinful and doesn't make me particularly comfortable, but encourage their ability to marry and don't want to do anything from stopping them to live their lives. That's garnered me the title homophobe on here before.

The only drama here will involve a game of White Elephant.

We bought a nice bottle of Malbec to throw in just to see the fighting over who gets it rather than the boring gifts since almost everyone there loves wine.

I'm not even sure if gay cousin and the 2 guys I'm talking about will ever be together. He texted me yesterday and said they weren't getting to town until Friday afternoon, and leaving Saturday morning. Homophobes are coming Christmas day, but not sure when they're leaving.

My aunt is the one most likely to cause some drama. She does every year it seems, but never in a attention whore way. She usually just makes a sarcastic comment to grandma and that sets it off. She told grandma she needed to get laid a couple of years ago.

We have 4 grown children. Mostly all good kids except for one middle daughter who is a major knucklehead and an 18 year old youngest who can be very immature.

All will be at our house for Xmas. I have laid down the law to ALL that any bullshite will result in them leaving. Immediately. I don't care who started it.

My present from them is requested to be 48 hours of normalcy. Just get along for 2 days to make their mother and I enjoy christmas. then the little bastards can go back to fighting.

Will see how this goes. I am pessimistic.

I did have this just happen:

My rotund, diabetic, awkward sister just told my 5 and 8 year old boys to not drink her Dr. pepper that she brought for herself.

My mom then told her that if it's going to be that way she can go get her own food for the rest of her stay.

It probably is. I just like hearing about other people's family drama to make myself feel better about my dysfunctional family.

probably no drama at any gatherings here. Christmas eve is usually just my parents, my maw maw and paw paw, me and my youngest sister. Christmas day is my moms side of the family again and no real drama ever occurs on that side.

Dads family probably not even getting together this year. its usually boring as well so no good drama.

Gfs family canceled one christmas because her uncle is in the hospital and the middle sister is preggers and close to popping.

Now her dad is in the hospital with a spider bite that got infected pretty bad. So I'm guessing that will be light as well. However some nice drama was brewing over an extra smart tv that her parents got on black friday.

Christmas should be pretty low on drama this year. Two of my cousins were in a wreck last night (they're ok thankfully) but the soreness might slow them down.

The one cousin used to have a big dramatic "breakdown" whenever my brother was mentioned (he passed 5 years ago). But after my Uncle basically told her she needed to cut that shite out because my Mom shouldn't have to see that shite everytime we get together she's stopped.

And despite the younger cousin's boyfriend being a raging prick he minds his P's and Q's around us so I don't foresee anything there.

All in all it should be a good, drama free Christmas.

My Grandmother would kick our asses if we suggested that. She complains about the mess left but I think she really likes hosting everybody.
