State is a great school but there is no denying that it isn't the upper echelon of college ball. I agree the Orange is a big deal but the sheer numbers of fans just aren't there. If they were, State would seat 100K plus also.

Its over a thousand miles away, MIA is one of the most expensive cities in the US, Georgia Tech isn't a sexy school, GT doesn't travel well.

These are the answers to your question. Sorry its not the "Derrrr they poor LOLZ" you were hoping for.

I agree with both statements. We have a small fan base and it is expensive to travel to Miami. A third major reason is that Paul Johnson isn't exactly known for his winning bowl game history. I will travel cheaply to support them, but no way I'm shelling out a thousand bucks to travel until we start winning bowl games.

If state and tech were playing across the street in five minutes, I wouldn't go see it.

Simple as that... It's a boring as hell matchup.

This is the time of year to be here. Sunny and upper 70's during the day, around 70 at night with lower humidity this time of year.

Also why rental prices on condos and hotels increases 20-25% from Thanksgiving until the end of March here. Definitely the most expensive time of the year to visit and everywhere is going to require a minimum three night stay.

BTW, as a local the traffic is horrendous this time of year. I can leave work at 6:30pm and it still takes over an hour to go the 18 miles from office to home, on the interstate no less.

Mississippi State sure as hell travels better than Missouri (actually relative to size of home stadium, State travels better than anyone in the conference). Worry about your Zoo of a state.

We have a tougher matchup, and State had the better season according to the rankings.

No, I'd say that State had the better season according to having 2 losses vs. Ole Miss's 3 losses.

State had 2 losses to top 10 teams. None of Ole Miss's 3 losses were to top 10 teams. This is not a perspective issue, dickhead.

How long does it take a tractor going from Starville to get to Miami? Maybe a reason the tickets are not selling.

Not as long as you'd think. A tractor can pretty much go in a straight line.

Interesting thread coming from the fanbase with the least attended Cotton Bowl in Jerryworld by about 5k.

Also interesting the amount of input from a fanbase that had 3100 fewer fans in their Music City Bowl against Georgia Tech than MSU had against Wake Forest only two years prior. Unless they legitimately want to argue that Wake travels better than Tech...

Also interesting that MSU has(already) sold 40% above Mizzou's total allotment to the Citrus Bowl through our own ticket office -- at about 1000% markup to what we can get those tickets for on the secondary market.

Orange Bowl NYE gametime of 8 EDT, SunLife Stadium sits in the middle of nowhere ... stadium or parking lot would not be a great place to greet the NY! Miami traffic sucks to begin with and if you were to attempt to get to the festivities whether downtown or South Beach, it would take 2 hours and you would not be able to find parking (even if your hotel is in one of these areas you would not get there until 2015).

How, exactly, do you know how well Tech traveled?

We sold out of our allotted tickets early...and came close to, if not completely....selling out of the surplus tickets we requested.

quote:

Dec. 22, 2013

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss sold its initial ticket allotment for the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and has a limited number of tickets left from its requested surplus. The Rebels face Georgia Tech on Dec. 30 at 2:15 p.m. CT.

but please...don't let simple facts get in the way of your assumptions....they never have before.
