in the second half. It was thoroughly entertaining and found myself becoming quite animated in my movements as I do while watching a football game.
I have watched a couple of games this year and you could almost see the light come on in the players. They played with an intensity I haven't seen yet even the ones we have won. Whether that is a game by game deal or it carries over I do not know. I really am glad I have something to watch while football is ending.
Anyone else feel the same?
Basketball junkies is it difficult to keep up that type of intensity game after game?
I just think it was a pretty amazing win considering Xavier was nearly flawless at the line and pretty damn good from the 3 point line.
I think Reed is going to be pretty damn good

i said in the game thread i was "football nervous" been a long time since i felt that for basketball

This was a huge win but i was never "football nervous". I think it's because we had nothing to lose. If we lost, we would've been in the position I'm used to us being in. And while it's a step up for Bball program we still have a long way to go.

I was watching and continue to be excited about the potential CBP represents for our program. I enjoyed attending games in school during the early 90's. I haven't watch many since mainly because so few make the TV in areas I have lived. Last night was a fun watch though. But not football intense.

Imagine when Pearl gets all his guys and after Person teaches them how to shoot.
This year, NIT would be amazing considering the lack of bigs.
We make the NCAA in 2016 for sure.
Canada is solid from the FT line. Bowers has to get better at FTs, otherwise, he'll be put on the line a bunch.

I suspect we'll need to break even in conference to sniff the NIT. Still a lot of work and a long way to go.

I'll compare it to how I have felt the past several years watching Bball games...
I wasn't more or less excited as I was say, watching the AU-UF game in Florida last year when we led late.
The difference for me was I felt like we would blow it late in every game I've watched for years now when we were right there in it late against a better team.
Last night I felt like we would win at the end of regulation, the first OT, and the second. You can see in the game thread I never got pessimistic. It is my confidence in seeing Pearl on the sidelines. He knows what he is doing, is all over everything with a passion late in the game and the team was reflecting that intensity and effort. It just makes you feel like good things are about to happen. The past few years it has been a deer in headlights look every time a big game was tight late. Last night was the opposite. No deer, intensity, effort, and a lot of emotion was what our team was showing.
I like it. Finally feel good about where we are going in hoops.

Also, the Pearl interview with Joe Dean right after the game was great. Most fun I have had watching a coaches interview in a while. Pearl is just awesome and a lot of fun.

JD Jr. is fun to listen to for me. It takes me back to his Dad and hearing him say: "String Music", "Round Mound of Rebound" and "The Rifleman! Person from downtown!".
Good Times.
Rocky, keeping intensity in B'Ball is a little easier than Football. There are more games, but it is different.

I was flipping back n forth between the Yahoo Sports app and the game thread during my niece's Christmas recital. Hive fived the wife and sister-in-law when we won.
I was pissed after the first half because we played so terribly. It was awesome to see us get the win. I love college hoops.

Yep, I bought my ticket back on the bandwagon this morning. Puppy will not be getting a new chew toy for Christmas after all.

Considering how many empty seats were in the arena, the crowd was really loud. You could tell it was affecting Xavier and their coach was doing his best to use timeouts to stall our momentum and crowd support.
I wish Barbee didn't kick Shaq Johnson off the team. Wish we had some player to give some monster dunks off the bench to get the crowd going and more interested

It was by far the most exiting basketball game i have watched in recent memory. It felt like the crowd willed the team to a victory and would not allow them to lose.

I got pretty excited at a few points during the game especially 2ot. It felt really good watching our basketball team get a big win last night. Between the energy and the direction given by CBP I see us going far sooner rather then later.

Most definitely.
At the end of the first half, I really thought Xavier was going to run away with the game.
My online feed dropped with less than a minute to go in regulation! I did not get to get back in until 2nd OT. I was constantly refreshing the score thread here.
I am not a big basketball fan, but Coach Pearl is a sight to behold on the sidelines.
