Dude, it's not a big deal, you people are melting far too hard. Defensive problems almost always lie in your S&C program. You don't have to recruit at a top 5 level to field a good D. State has been top 5 in the league in scoring defense 4 of the last 5 years and I'm pretty sure we have only one 5* recruit on our defense right now.

S&C only goes so far if you can't get off the field.

That's all S&C. Same thing with Garrett, you cannot be a well rounded End at 255 pounds; granted, I realize he is just a freshman. Not saying they don't have speed and stamina, but you've got to have the muscle mass in this league.
You're right about getting off the field but that's going to always exist, to an extent, because of your offense.

Agreed, but A&M fast paced throw 80% of the time offense also causes a large amount of plays in a game because the clock is constantly being stopped by incomplete passes.

You have to give Miss St credit. They have done a tremendous job of developing defensive talent that was under the radar.
