After the Harbaugh discussion and a side discussion into Carroll it made me wonder how the two compared.

IN ADDITION, PETE CARROLL HAD 2 AP TITLES (1 BCS TITLE).

All 3 of Saban's unranked losses were in his first year. Every loss since then has been to a team that finished ranked.

You need to add an AP titles row, or people will completely ignore everything and only attack that

I found it interesting that both coaches had similar overall records and dominance, but Saban lost more to Top 25 type teams while Carroll lost more head-scratchers, but Carroll has to be one of the best ever at beating Top 10 teams.

Two things that stand out the most:

Pete dominates Saban on top 10 wins. I guess he is a better coach when the playing field is even. Prolly why he is alot better in the NFL

Saban dominates Pete on not losing to inferior teams(unranked teams) Prolly why Saban is so successful in College

I'd take Carroll over Saban in a heartbeat.

Also, both coaches went 6-6 their first season. If you take out that first year when both were establishing the programs the figures are just out of this world.

Also I don't even pay attention to the conference title figures. The current SEC vs the USC Dominant Era Pac 10 isn't even a contest. That was not a good league.

Agreed. Their overall winning % is almost a deadlock. The only thing that stands out is the unranked losses and top 10 wins

Pete Carroll can actually win in the nfl

Saban is a sellout coach at a sellout bandwagon program

Sweet yall are the best at a sport that only 0.0003% of the world cares about.

How I take it:

If you dont have an equivalent talent level, you aint beating Saban. His team will 100% be ready to play day in and day out against anybody. But if you can match his talent, you can outcoach him.

If you arent an under the radar team, you aint beating Pete. You will not outcoach this guy on the field. However, with his personality, his team may not show up if you are a bad team
