Hurd cited for underage drinking - oh teh noes

Apparently Jalen Hurd was issued a citation for underage consumption back on the 3rd. Not even for consumption himself according to a few sources (unverified but ones I consider trustworthy) but because open containers were found in a dorm he was present in. Apparently a person was passed out in a car/parking lot near the dorm which touched off the whole thing and led to investigation (verified).
John Brice of VQ (verified/trustworthy source) says Hurd has been punished internally. And an unverified source says he may have to go before the student disciplinary committee/student government for possible further punishment since we are a dry campus.
At any rate, the whole thing has already been dealt with in terms of the team.
Can't believe Jalen would be around open containers while underage and/or consume demon alky-hol if that's what he did. Obvious TPOS.

We took a page from the Auburn book. He playing. A citation is very, very, different from an arrest according to Tennessee law and so has to deal with internal punishment.

Hawkeyes will still roll. Hurd won't do much against Iowa's two future NFL DTs in Davis and Trinca-Passat. They will also rattle Dobbs. Outland Trophy winner , unanimous 1st team AA, and upcoming top 5 draft pick Scherff will nullify Barnett. Jake Rudock will go ham.

You serious? I think it's absurd and 18 year old can be cited for underage drinking. It's a recent law and a stupid one. As long as they're not driving, IDC. It's as common as intaking air for HS and College students to do this.
Even so, I don't see how there's any defensiveness. Making fun of a dumb law - you betcha. 18 years olds can and often due die for this country, they're allowed to vote, and they get tried as adults.
It's absurd to say they can't drink or be around open containers w/o risking citations.
frick MADD and President Reagan who was the one responsible for forcing states to change the law by threatening to withhold federal funding of highways to force raising the drinking age in order to appease MADD. He walked all over the states' rights stuff he proclaimed on this issue and it was overreach on an issue the Feds had no business exerting influence on. Blackmail at its best. AND it was all done to appease a voting block. Even many diehard conservative pundits/intellectuals will admit this.
And FWIW, I'd say this no matter who it was from whatever team. It's stupid.
