Out of State tuition waivers

Do any of y'all know the required ACT score for Ole Miss to waive out of state tuition?
I have a relative that wants to attend Ole Miss as a Freshman in 2016. He made a 26 on the ACT when he took it as a Sophomore (he's recently retaken as a Junior and is waiting for the results) The kid has a 4.00 GPA and should finish first or second in his class. His mom is also an OM alum.
I've searched the Ole Miss website and didn't see anything. TIA to anyone that can help with this.

21 for the incoming freshman next year but their starting to slowly increase it

That's just for admission for out of state students. What ACT score is required to waive the out of state tuition?

That doesn't exist.
I had friends from Texas that got instate tuition sophmore -senior year. After having residence in ms for one continuous year ( had to work in oxford during summer) and getting a ms liscense and filing paperwork at martindale.
There is no act score waiver.. That I was ever aware of existing.

Damn I was about to say I would have re done my ACT more times if there was a score that could wave my out of State tuition. But if you score good enough on the ACT I know there's a scholarship you can get.

Well frick. Are you sure? I know that State will waive OOS with a 26. But then again, they have a hard time getting out of state students whereas Ole Miss doesn't.

Yes you can get. MESG at an act score of 28.
Why I took it twice and got the 29 i needed the second time .
Mesg was $2500 year scholarship.. You have to maintain a 3.0 as well.

This essentially covers OOS tuition. Ole Miss doesn't waive OOS tuition except from Shelby and Fayette counties in TN with a 23-24 on the ACT. We don't give away money for students like southern has to do.

It's only available to mississippi residents enroll ing freshman year for a 4 year university.. And it is not a waiver it is a scholarship grant...

So I just checked the website again. It appears they give Academic Excellence Awards for non residents based off of ACT and GPA. With a 3.00+ GPA and a 26 ACT a student qualifies for $3,500 in yearly aid. This increases dramatically as the ACT score goes up. A 32 ACT with a 3.00 qualifies for almost $16,000 in aid. A 32 would basically cancel out the non resident fees.

Well good news then. What are the other stipulations? If it's only a 3.0 and a 28 everyone woukd apply. Is it FIC based or any residency requirements?

I don't know if this is still available, but a 32 cancelled out of state tuition as of 5 years ago.

I just found an updated table for 2014+2015. A 32 ACT gives $6,250 + $12,048 towards the non resident fee. A 33+ ACT gives $6,996 + an additional $12,048 towards the non resident fee. It doesn't appear that there are any other stipulations other than a 3.00 GPA.

A 32 is by no means easy to achieve, though. To put it into perspective, a 21 is around the 50th percentile. A roughly equal # of people scored at or below. A 28 is in the 90th percentile. 90% score below it and 40% score between 21 and 28. Only around 10% of people score in the 8 point range above 28. That's not very many at all.
14-21: 50%
22-27: 40%
28-36: 10%
Just looked it up. 32 is in the 98th percentile.

We'll get a better idea if a 32 is plausible when he gets his results back. He made a 26 the first time as a Sophomore when he didn't even finish all of it. You can take it 12 times. Hopefully a year later his scores continue to increase. (and he was able to finish all of it this time)

Put him in a Kaplan test prep $300 to save 20k would be worth it
