I haven't gotten to watch much of Wichita this year, but just from looking at some of their stats and the guys who have played, we should match up much better with them than we did with Xavier. Their two best interior players are only 6'7 so *hopefully* Taylor/Kessens/Hale can hold their own defensively and take advantage offensively. If we can keep Baker and VanVleet from going off, maybe we could have a shot? We're definitely going to have to look better than we have these past two games though and Tarrant will have to play through injuries. He's gotta be out there. I'm not sure if Coleman is ready for the atmosphere he will see tomorrow.

I predict 50 points and Retin bringing the ball up court.

@CecilHurt: Alabama coach Anthony Grant thinks G Ricky Tarrant "will be fine" for Tuesday game at Wichita State depending on today's practice.

Big game for Tarrant. I like our chances here, they should not dominate us on the inside.

Wichita is more talented then Xavier was. And better coached. I hope we play better than we have in the past on the road during Christmas break.

No doubt about it. I'm just saying they shouldn't be able to dominate us on the inside like Xavier did.

Retin has played very well the last 2 games... we have been on the plus side when he has been on the court lately.. including just about all of the scoring rubs we've gone on. Our most productive line up has been Kessens, Norris, Cooper, Randolph and Retin. Retina has also been our best man defender. I was really down on Cooper and O but they are our most productive players right now.

Unfortunately for some of you this isn't the make or break year for Grant.. next season is.. especially with the team showing signs of life.. Bama must win the games it's supposed to and it looks like they will in the OOC. If we can beat either WSU or Ucla and not take any bad losses our rpi will be in the mid 30s.

We also have another excellent class locked up.. all the prospects are having phenomenal seasons so far.

Eh well...to be honest if this team is a not a tourney team under grant...then we will never have one under him again.
Next year we lose Cooper and Randolph...I think Tarrant will probably take over but who after that Hale, Coleman... a freshman???

If we miss the tourney this year....my optimism for next season goes completely out of the window.

Basketball ain't like that... whose shots do you want to take to get Retin 15.. good basketball is about people playing their roles. That's why our most productive unit doesn't look that good on paper. Kessens, Norris, Cooper, either Randolph or Tarrant and Retin is our most productive 5. Retin for his defense and he's a foul magnet when hoes to the hole, Tarrant or Randolph(either can get 20) are 1st scoring options, Cooper as a 2nd scorer who can get 20 plus rebounding. Norris is a glue guy kid is pretty freaking tough too and he can hit the open 3. Kessens is a much needed skilled post guy especially since Shannon is in a funk. He can also hit the 3 and has a good mid range game and his defense & rebounding are getting better. He mentioned he was finally 100 so that's great news.

Retin getting 15 sounds good but if he does I'd hate to see what the game outcome would be.. maybe he could get the right match up and draw a bunch of fouls but, I don't see plays being drawn up for him to do that.

At some point we are going to have to stop saying this...

We have an excellent player locked up in Hall. Ingram looks to be better than expected, but I'm still very iffy on Austin. We also still need to add a couple more as well...

So your most productive 5 doesn't have to include Randolph? You can't be serious...

No it doesn't.. Randolph has dropped off big time in the last 3 games.. But Tarrant and Cooper have picked up... so No, it doesn't HAVE to include Randolph. seriously..

If he doesn't make the tourney this year and still has a job, I'm done with Bama basketball. Especially after they let Pearl slip right through their fingers last season.

To me, allowing Grant to keep his job when an great coach is available for hire and begging for the job makes this a make or break season for Grant. Prove the administration right or get out.
