Imagine if we still used the BCS. How the hell do you leave home one of FSU, Bama, or Oregon?
New format isn't perfect, but it's definitely better.

Who's complaining that we now have a playoff? I would've preferred to keep the BCS formula and seed the playoff 1-4 with it though.

Nobody is complaining about the playoff. 
There are complaints about the system used to process the idea, not the idea itself.

You know that computers played a very small role in the old BCS formula, correct? 2/3 of that system was human polls and computers would've had to be overwhelmingly different to make a difference. It happened, but very rarely.
