At what point is it not okay for the refs to blow their whistle for a review?

I will use the Iron Bowl for an example. Auburn ran another play, and the play was over before they blew the whistle to review the previous play. The calls before and after the review went in Auburn's favor. We definitely lucked out on the call.

I just want to know if there is an actual point after the play where the refs can't blow their whistle to review the previous play.

I'm tired of seeing this type of shite. It ruined about a 10 yard gain on the next play. If the rule is before the ball is snapped for the next play, then coaches should be able to review at the exact moment the ref blew his whistle.

Auburn got very screwed on that play. Luckily it worked out for them but they absolutely did not blow the whistle before the ball was snapped.

Considering that it was an incorrect ruling, we will call their shenanigans a push.

When the ball is snapped is the rule.

While I get your point, I find it funny that you want a review for whether the play is reviewed.

Still surprised Sylve didn't get that call in his favor, but I guess it was going to stand as called regardless.

I was at the game and the head official wasn't even near the play when it happened he was over by the auburn sideline twenty yards back. He had to run to up on the play to blow the whistle to review the previous play. There was a ton of confusion and the umpire should have never let the ball be snapped.

When the ball is snapped the previous play cannot be reviewed. The refs shouldn't have been able to review it, but it was going to hurt the Univ of Saban and help Auburn so Slive to the rescue to protect golden boy Saban

I think as long as the ref gets buzzed before the snap, then it can be reviewed.

That play was all kind of fubar. The ref closest to the play signaled first down Alabama. The review should have overturned the play. Thankfully, it had no real impact on the final score.

The refs fricked that whole sequence up. The missed the call on the field, they weren't ready when the ball was allowed to be snapped, they called for a review after the next play was run, and then they got the review wrong because they didn't know the rule.

Just a clusterfrick of 2 plays.

Some of the spots in the 2nd half pissed me off.

The only one I laughed at a little was the 4th down to White on the sideline. Basically Kiffin spotted the ball, called it a first down, and the side judge agreed.

Me too. Marshall never came close to making the first down.

That TOTALLY makes sense, seeing how the refs followed up by completely blowing the call in favor of Auburn
