Well our RB Coach is a former Gator, Robert Gillespie (98-01) and he's quite simply awesome. He's absolutely one of my favorite staff members and has been since his first year here. He's talked about how some of the most competitive and memorable games he played against us and no wonder given the time frame.
I remember when he was hired he said the first time he got the chance to enter Neyland, he was gonna run into one of the checkerboard endzones because he never got the chance to when he was a player. He was so close on one play but he never did make it but when he came to UT as a coach he finally got the chance.
No need to hate on former players regardless of their former school - not when they're good peeps.

Tebow gets such grief because he is an outspoken Christian. He's a great guy who treats everyone well, including gator opponents.

I disagree with you that it's due to him being an outspoken Christian - lots of players/coaches etc. have been outspoken Christians. I really believe it was a combination of things... for many it came across as fake like he was putting on a show when there are plenty of others who are solid in their faith who don't do that, Tebow also came across just wayyyyy too goody-two-shoes to be believed at times (who is that perfect??? who?) and then there was the media mania that was just out of control (not his fault really but it got old, imo).
JMO. I do think he's a good dude but man, I admit I don't believe he's nearly as good as his image (no one is!).
