SEC - no doubt. Game day, TV, road trips, etc, doesn't compare.

Dude said he had been living in Atlanta for last 15 years....probably saw a lot of road hoes.

SEC. I really don't want to be anywhere else.

If I had to rank the rest, it would be Big 8, Big 10, Big 12 if we could kick Texas out.

Kansas City was very spoiled by being central to the Big 8, and right at the heart of it. The headquarters was there. But for those of us in other parts of the state it was a long haul, and we always had more in common with SEC folks anyway. We adjusted and dealt with it for decades. KC will do the same.

I wasn't that excited when Mizzou joined the SEC, but I will say with each passing year I find myself getting more into the SEC. Before the move I never watched SEC games, but now I frequently watch SEC games not involving Mizzou.

I loved the old Big 8 but that is gone forever so in my opinion no reason to include that in the rankings.

Big 12---NEVER---SCREW TEXAS

I will be the first to admit that when all of this started years back I was hoping for Mizzou to go to the Big Ten, but now I have experienced Mizzou's new conference I am really glad the administration made the choice it did. Besides I wouldn't want Mizzou to get beat by Indiana every year lol. Sorry couldn't resist.

Let's be clear. No allegiance to a conference. Mizzou only.

Hate all you want.

Maybe Mizzou's $40 mil haul next year will change your mind.

Make sure you get access to the Mizzou board, kcprogguitar!

Go to the help board. There's instructions there somewhere.

I get, and share, the eternal vitriol that pretty much every Mizzou fan expresses in this thread toward the Big 12 and Texas. I live in Austin and its even worse for me, I utterly despise what UT did to us and our league.

However, I think perhaps with all the vitriol we lose sight of the good things - yes good things - we gained from the Big 12.

To borrow a line from Chris Rock in describing what America is like to a black person, "The Big 12 is like the uncle who paid your way through college...but molested you."

Yes, Texas molested us.

But they and the Big 12 also gave our football program a lifeblood in the form of a Texas recruiting pipeline that we were savvy enough to find coaches who could exploit. The lifeblood of Mizzou football *even now* is the result of that. Everytime Bud Sasser, Marcus Murphy, Russell Hansbrough makes a play for us this season it all stems back to our time in the Big 12.

And fact is, the tyranny we lived under is what led directly to the brightest possible future for Mizzou athletics in the wealthiest, most egalitarian and most competitive athletic conference in the country - the SEC.

Yes, we will be in therapy the rest of our lives recounting the time our Uncle Longhorn touched us down there. But we took that free college education, got ourselves a 4.0 and a seven figure job and are never looking back. It had to happen exactly the way it did.

Big Eight. fricking Texas ruining our conference.

Big 8 was nice. One of the top conferences back then.

ETA: Forgot those old Big 8 days was when Mizzou was beating SEC teams in Bowls.

No doubt. Flew into College Station for an interview last February. The first thing you see in the terminal is "Welcome to SEC Country"

Which, coming all the way from SC, made me feel right at home.

The SEC would still be my first choice. The Big 12 without Texas would be my second.

there is no Big 8, there is no "Big 12 IF..."

I'm sitting watching a 3 hour nationally televised pregame show with a Mizzou helmet across from a Tenn helmet,, in THE premiere college football conference.

I know this was a troll thread, don't think for a moment I fell for it, but really, come on people, this is the SEC... raise your game!

The big 8 is gone like melted snow, so forget about them. I can certainly understand why you left Texas and the big 12, like a girlfriend with the clap.

I want Mizzou fans to feel good about being in the SEC, embrace it. After A&M came in you were my next choice. Remember we all hate each other, we just hate people outside the conference more. We also don't take too kindly to SEC teams losing to the big rusty a/k/a the big ten.

SEC

The bias in this conference isn't as ridiculous as the OU/Texas shite. I was so sick of those two schools it made me want to puke. In 10 years and 5 SEC East Titles later the SEC will have no choice but to accept us Yanks.

I share this sentiment. I just could not believe how the money was structured in the Big 12. I'm really surprised that conference stayed together, but I guess the only reason it did is because everybody conformed to Texas and Oklahoma's demands.

Mizzou was a great choice for both parties. Mizzou gets more exposure and equal revenue, and the SEC gets a great academic institution and ratings in a state that many would argue is more southern in tradition then northern. I'm sure that is debatable though.

Two facts about the victims of UT & I'll include Arkansas

1. all had losing records against UT - Nebraska won 1 out of 10

2. Both conferences got better when A&M & Mizzou ran to the SEC.

and let me add 1 more factoid for Mizzou fans - you come back and we'll frick you up again.
