And you wonder what they are primarily using to create these rankings.

If the top 4 win out, there will be no change in the rankings, unless they rearrange the seeds. None of the teams outside looking in have nearly as impressive a win left than a win on the road at #8 Ole Miss. Not TCU. Not OSU. Not Baylor. They have said that as of right now...today...this is how they are ranked, and MSU winning out only strengthens their hand relative to the other 3.

Agreed, beating Ole Miss would be so sweet. Beat your rival and you get a clinch a spot in the NC playoff. Not to mention, if Auburn beats Bama, we would clinch the West.

That's one thing they are using sure... They are ranked in order so that kinda throws that theory out the window.

OSU is ranked 6th but have the 11th ranked SOR while Ole Miss is ranked 8th with the 7th ranked SOR.

It's a pretty obvious statement to say the teams with the best SOR are ranked the highest.

Who the teams have beaten and number of losses. Not so much who they lose to or margin of victory.

OSU has 1 loss. OM has two. No shite y'all would be behind them.

Idk, how they choose to handle conference championships at the end is the biggest wildcard left.

No shite.. You were suggesting that SOR is what matters.

eta: Also, Baylor has 1 loss and the 6th ranked SOR but is ranked behind OSU.

Sorry, I should have stated that it is the kicker when teams have similar records with 1 loss or fewer. That seems to be the outlier.

Miss St better hope teams behind them lose.

I don't see them leaving out a 1 loss conference champion in favor of a 1 loss team that didn't win their own division even.

Serious question here. What's "Strength of Record"? Probably something Arkansas fans like me have no use in learning about, but I'm still interested.

Thanks!

WTH do they use for SOS? Alabama #3? On the NCAA website, Alabama is #26 with past opposition ranking and Ole Miss is #3.
