Cheese, do some digging on the basketball blood in the Porter family. You might be impressed.

Yeah, I was wondering about that.

So what do you think for the ladies this winter? What will be their basic game plan? Did that hot 3 point shooter graduate yet? I was watching that game against Auburn last year or the year before where Mizzou set the SEC record and that Auburn guard was pretty good.

Probably met them at a game already then. It is cool when you have a whole family tied to basketball at a single school.

It really is kind of nuts. The family could legitimately have 3 boys from the same family playing in the NBA (if the freshman turns out to be as good as hyped) and that's not counting the even younger ones because I have no idea. I also have no idea about the WNBA so no clue if the girls could make that.

Not sure which of the 3 point shooters you're talking about. We returned the 2 who jacked it up the most. The 3rd one who shot a lot of 3's is gone. Morgan Eye was 7/9 from 3 in the 1st game. The second game, Freshman Bri Porter led the team. She's the tallest player on the team at 6'3" so the team may be more than just jack up 3's this year. Have to believe that's a good thing to be more balanced.

Another interesting point. There are 2 more sisters on the team, Maddie and Morgan Stock. Their dad Tim Stock went to my old high school and could just light it up. Our pregame to try to psych out the other team was for him to go on the court by himself with the managers and start shooting from 8 feet behind the 3. Was just too slow to play at a major level. He played some lower level ball and I played some YMCA leagues with him since. Guy can still light it up.

Like Zeller kids?
Luke, Suns
Cody, Bobcats
Tyler, Celtics

If they get the exposure in college it really helps WNBA draft stock. WBB is different in lots of second tier schools have good teams that people who follow will follow the players. Matt Insell, new Ole Miss coach, dad coaches MTSU and teams like Blue Raiders get noticed. Interested to see if the SECN helps or hurts the SEC in national exposure. If the Tigers can make their presence known, it will help the ladies WNBA stock.

That might be her, name sounds familiar. What was the name of the one who graduated? One thing I generally liked about the women's game was the good shooting high % 3's as it usually translated to 80% or more from the charity stripe.

Depends on where you play and the refs. I like much of the speed ball you now see in the SEC but refs slow them down come tournament time (possibly because the refs do not run that much) but fast guards and turnovers is fun to watch. They say they want more fans but NCAA games with big slow teams is not going to accomplish that. SEC East teams playing 4 fast guards will sell tickets but it makes the B1G, ACC, and Big East teams look bad.

The platoon system Cal is now running at UK was run by MM 4 years or so ago in the women's game when he was playing Richardson's 40 min of hell.

Happens more often than most folks think. Why I have such awe for folks that can move fast and still make the long shots.

Tried to get to Columbia last season but did not work. Weather can really affect travel on the northern SEC schools (AR, MO, KY, and TN) but looks like Mizzou will be @ UGA the first weekend of January and Andy usually has a good team every year. for the success UGA has achieved in WBB it never reflected at the gate.

Sounded familiar but seems like Eye was the one. Will Tigers have an inside game this year? Any idea what they will play mostly on defense?

I think Bri Porter will bring more of an inside game this year. She's the 6'3" freshman forward. She led the team in scoring with 18 in their second game and that's with 0 three pointers. That is why I was saying I think they'll have a more balanced offense this year and not rely solely on the 3. Want to extend the defense...it will open up lanes for Bri. Want to sag back on Bri and it will open up the 3's. Hoping it's a good combo for them this year. Not sure on the defensive end.
