The year I had it was worthless because no doctors in my area would take it. So what was the point? I am just going back to private pay.

That sucks. Mine went up but I had a kid so not sure how much to blame Obama. Either way, I must admit i don't really understand the ACA enough to complain about it (besides to complain about how complex and incomplete it is (so much has still not been implemented based on regulations that haven't been issued)).

I don't have any form of insurance currently (Got out of the Service not to long ago and haven't picked up anything yet)
Does anyone know what happens if you don't have any form of insurance heading into the new year?

You're gonna pay a fine on your tax return next year unless you game the system. Google opting out of Obamacare. No one should give the government money they don't have to.

Because of obamacare, insurers cannot medically underwrite you or apply or preexisting conditions. It doesn't make any sense actuarial but you are fine.

Mine went up a couple years before it passed. I actually have some benefits with my plan going down (i.e. reduced copay on allergy shots) and I've been with the same plan through Humana for a few years now.

My premium didn't double. It only went up 58%. And my out of pocket only tripled. However, I do have maternity and pediatric insurance, although I have no kids and am currently single. Gotta love wealth redistrubition.
