Black people can't be racist, cause we changed the meaning of 'racist' to mean 'white people.'

LINK

quote:

But the most important moment in the film is when Samantha White, defines racism: “Black people can’t be racist, she says. “Prejudiced, yes, but not racist. Racism describes a systemic advantage based on race. Black people can’t be racists since we don’t stand to benefit from such a system.” The treatment of white rioters and black protesters by the mainstream media is an accurate reflection of this definition.

quote:

Undoubtedly, there will be people who continue to pretend that white privilege is a myth. They will decry the movie as “reverse racism” but Dear White People has a response. “How would you like if someone made a Dear Black People?” asks a white student in one scene. Samantha informs him that there’s no need, because media outlets, like Fox News, have already made it very clear how white America feels about black people.

From the clips I've seen, it actually looks pretty funny and it's getting great reviews from critics.

I don't really care what the "message" of a film is if it entertains me, especially when it comes to comedy. I'll probably Redbox it.

Same. I've watched shite like Gasland and those 9/11 conspiracy films before, they're usually hilarious

Ah, a "systemic advantage". Super secret racism. A conspiracy to keep them down. White people are Jews now.

This is one of the most prejudiced statements I have ever read.

I suppose if you're white, Fox News is the undisputable, collective opinion of your race. That's complete and total bullshite and the fact that she is resorting to such media slanted propoganda immediately invalidates any and all credibility.

You guys laugh at this but if you think a large percentage of southern blacks being on welfare is a benefit to that culture as a whole, you're an idiot and so are they.

i hate fox news and don't watch it as a conservative, but that bit of ignorance right there is why we can't have nice things.

Yep.

truth be told, even most left leaning social justice warriors know that this kind of creed is only for political clout and isn't really reflective of the real world. Except for the basement dwellers.

Alright, hold up. From what I've heard about the film, it's pretty scathing about race relations in general--including problems black people can introduce to the equation.

Take a listen to this audio review (start listening at 48:25) done by two insanely liberal black dudes from Austin, TX (they're both fricking t-sips but they have some of the funniest/in-depth/no bullshite entertainment reviews out there).

I think this film probably gets a bad rap because of the title/subject matter, but it sounds like it's different from what you'd expect.

I love how she calls the white's "rioters" and blacks "protesters" like somehow the black protests are peaceful compared to whites.

When was the last time white people protesting did the shite that blacks protesting in Ferguson did?

One of the more ignorant statements I've read on the rant, which is saying something.

Race is a factor in EVERY society. I consider myself race aware. Not race prejudiced. Definite differences culturally between the races. I think that is good. Different cultural influences in music and the arts shows up specifically. Also given the number of successful black athletes its obvious there is some advantage to the quick twitch musculature of black athletes.

Race differences are GOOD. WTF would we want to be this melting pot of average? Stupid PC idea. (in my view).

Everybody wants to celebrate diversity...but what they seem to really mean is that we are all the same. We are NOT. We are different and different is GOOD.

I don't think the system is as fair to black people as it is to white people. I think it's getting better every day, and Charles Barkley has even stated how on some levels it's a self inflicted cultural problem, but I still think there is inequity.

I think white people complaining about reverse racism is annoying. The deck is stacked in your favor.
