I really think a two loss SEC team will make the playoff. There's a lot of football left to be played and many of the one loss teams will lose again. Just a few scenarios: If Auburn loses to Ole Miss or Georgia, but wins the Iron Bowl, they get in. If Bama loses to MSU or LSU, but wins the IB, they'll make it. If Ole Miss loses to Auburn, but wins the Egg, they are in. Georgia could lose one more, but win the SEC Championship and earn a berth. Each of those teams will have several very impressive wins on their resumes.
Every year, it appears several teams will go undefeated, but it rarely happens. A two loss LSU team once made the BCS Championship, so it's not too far fetched to think a two loss team can make the top four. There seems to be a lot of parity this year, so a two loss team can definitely get in. If it happens, it's a given that it will be an SEC team due to their incredible strength of schedule. You heard it here first.

I don't see it but if any two loss SEC team makes the playoffs we know who the team with the two loss magic is!

It's possible. The winner of MSU-Ohio State will need to lose a game, Notre Dame will need to drop one, the PAC-12 and Big 12 will have to beat up on themselves. It's certainly possible though. Especially if Georgia wins in Atlanta.

my prediction is that auburn will drop a minimum of one more game and that we will not make the playoff.

If we've learned anything tonight, it's that it's definitely very possible.

All the people with conspiracy theories about how the SEC has no shot to get 2 in need to take a good look at how they're ranking these teams.

It's about who you beat, who you lost to, and where you played. Maybe some point differential will be considered too.

The SEC has a decent to good shot to get two teams.

I can't see it. It can't play out that way.

No way, no how. Committee won't let that happen. They will not let a one loss Big Ten or ND be left out over a 2 loss SEC team.

If Alabama wins the IB and loses to LSU how will they get in? LSU win the head to head and beat Ole Miss (who beat Bama).

I really hope this happens. I actually just started a thread on it.

I am thinking this is going to become an obsolete way of thinking. I think this may be the point of what we learned today.

It is certainly possible. The committee appears prepared to reward team who play difficult schedules and IMO if no SECw team makes it through the seccg with less than two losses, frick it. Put the two loss SEC west team in. Then prepare to be validated when that two loss team wrecks shop and beats everyone else to win it all.

I can see a one loss SEC team making it over a Big 10 champ or ND but not a 2 loss team. Hope I am wrong but...

LSU could lose one more. They also got crushed by Auburn who Alabama would have beat.

It COULD happen. If LSU made the BCS with two losses, then with four teams in a playoff, a two loss team could get in.

One more scenario. KState wins out and finishes with one loss. AU loses to Georgia or Ole Miss, but beats one of them and Alabama. How does KState make it over Auburn? It doesn't. AU would have four very impressive wins on the season.
