We needed them to win to give us a better shot at the 3 way tie.

Now, there is only 1 scenario that gets us to Atl:

Both us and Bama win out and we win the IB.

I don't think bama beats LSU in BR and MSU.

However, I've decided I'm ok with this. Three way tie and we probably have to beat UGA twice.

Yeah, I would prefer us to make it to Atl, but pulling for bama is bullshite.

Guess I'm just saying I'm ok either way. I only give us about a 35% chance of winning out, but that is a bit better chance than I give bama and a lot better than I give Piss.

Bama will beat LSU and MSU IMO.

LSU winning is always a bad thing...remember that.

We don't need ATL brah. We win out, we are in the playoff.

Truth. But IMO, that's damn near impossible with three road trips to top 10 teams

Any time I've needed Bama to win, they've lost. So I just never pull for them.

Why do you have to cheer for Bama? We need MSU to lose twice and that's the only way we go.

It's impossible for AU, Bama, and MSU to be in a three way tie with 1 loss.

Bama has to win out and us beat them and MSU lose the Egg Bowl. Forgot to add that for the 3 way tie.

Point was just that the Piss loss made our chances of Atl highly unlikely.

But, like I said, I'm ok with that. Win out and get in and pull for Bama to lose to MSU and LSU just for fun.

I'm totally happy taking a backdoor into the playoff and not having to enter double jeopardy with UGA.

It hurts us in a three way tie scenario but it also opens up the possibility of us going to ATL with two losses.

We win out except UGA.

Bama wins out except us.

Ole Miss beats Miss St in the Egg Bowl.

All would be 6-2 but we would have the best West record and would go to Atlanta.

If there's anything that could ever make me a 'Bama fan, this is it.

Good point and this would be really interesting. It is not a far fetched scenario and what would happen if we then beat a one loss UGA in Atl.

Committee would really have something to think about to put a 2 loss team in over 1 or more 1 loss teams from a power conference or ND.

My preferred way into this would be for Moo State to go to the SEC Championship and win it. Auburn wins out and goes to the dance without having to play the extra game. This works fine if we beat UGA and UGA loses to Moo State in the SECCG.

Just remember a lot of weight will be given to those that had to play an extra game. If it is against a highly rated team that could catapult a team over us at the end of the season. It is not a given we stay in the playoffs without playing in ATL. A solid chance yes, but not 100.

That would not make a 3 way tie. We would win it outright being the only team with 1 loss. Bama, Ole Miss, and Miss State would all have 2 losses. If you wanna know something really crazy there is a 5 way tie scenario possible with the same 4 teams and LSU all at 6-2. No matter how that would be sliced AU would win the tie breaker either by having the best SEC West record if our 2nd loss is to UGA or if the 2nd loss is to an SEC West team then we get the tiebreaker win on SEC East opponent win %. UGA & South Carolina trumps any combo of East teams the other 4 play.

Respectfully disagree. Our Murderous road schedule makes our chances of going to Atl really tough. Miss State can easily lose 2 # Bama and @ Ole Miss.

As for the people not wanting to pull for Bama to win, don't look at it that way. Look at it as pulling for Miss St to lose.

Oh and mark it down right now. There will be a 2 loss team in the playoff as there will be no more than three 1 loss teams left in the Power 5 at the end of the regular season.

I think you over estimate other team's chances in that scenario. We will have played the toughest schedule in the nation. We will be no worse than #3 and either will not be jumped or if we are in that case we would still be in at #4. It's the team going into championship weak #4 that would have to worry about that.

Is that what I did here ellitor, I overestimated the league championship game for another team that is ranked below us?

My bad, I should have known better than to offer that up in this discussion. Looking at it now I can see how that would have no effect on the committee. Thanks for setting me straight bro
