With Cam Rob out at LT, who will replace him and what are your thoughts on his ability to protect Sims vs Hunter? No flame, just curious for obvious reasons

Leon Brown filled in Saturday. He'd probably be the guy but it's a huge drop off. I'm more concerned in the running game. We can scheme roll outs and what not if need be to protect Sims. A lot of our passing game is quick stuff that doesn't require a ton of protection anyway.

It's going to be difficult Cam has been great for us this year, and we seem to have difficulty on the road dealing with noise as far as O-line execution anyways.

On the plus side we've dealt with O'line injuries all year so that group should be able to make the most of a bad situation and we've finally got a mobile QB that can create some opportunities out of pressure looks.

That being said I think it could be a huge factor in our offenses success and I don't expect a lot of points out of Bama's offense in Death Valley. Luckily our defense has really stepped it up lately should be a tight low scoring game.

Robinson is our best lineman. Losing him is a problem. We have recruited well, however. A competent backup will be filling the void.

Bigpapamac covered it pretty well.

It is a very big loss that will hurt the running game and probably lead to a lot passing plays that put Sims on the move (on the plus side, IMO that's when he does his best work).

Still find it hard to believe Bama will be pro pass vs us....not used to that. I get it with Cooper on your side, but...just feel the power running game will be crucial for whoever wins this game. Maybe I'm wrong about that...

Of course you want to believe this because it is really all LSU can do offensively.

We'll run the ball more than we throw it for sure, but we've been more balanced this year than some recent years and it's worked out well for us. I do think the best way to attack the LSU defense is to run right at them with a power run game and we'll have a heavy dose of that in the game plan. That's why Robinson will be a big loss.

Defensively, stopping a power run game is by far the thing we do best. This is easily the deepest, most talented defensive line we've had under Saban.

Kiffin would be wise to move the pocket with Sims at QB. Even without the CRob injury, he has to be concerned that Sims could have issues with balls being batted at the line of scrimmage due to his lack of height and LSU's propensity for it.

When Cam went out they moved Leon Brown, the RT,over to LT.

The 2nd string RT replaced Leon.

Obviously Cam being out doesn't make us better.

We'll see

No. No you can't. Most CFB athletes can't.

An issue yes but not a major drop off... replacement is a Sr. who filled in with no issue Saturday... Brown was the projected LT before the spring but we needed him more at RG. He is a true LT so it's not like he has to learn something new. He's a better tackle than guard if you ask me. As far as Hunter... who dat?

i think it's a major blow. Sims is good in traffic, but he has been able to rely on not being lambasted from the blind side all year. I hope we can get it worked out with a week off and put a good game plan together. LSU is no team to sleep on as the Black Rebel Bear Sharks can attest.

Yeah, that's it buddy... Got me totally figured out. Bama/LSU has always been about the power running game. Better hope Sims doesn't have any trouble vs our secondary or your D could be on the field a bunch and worn down by the fourth...ask OM how that worked out for them.

Leon Brown will fill in, and he's actually one of our better run blockers and a more natural fit at LT than he is at RG where he typically starts. Bozeman (our backup C) filled in for him at RG after Robinson went out Saturday and seemed to do a pretty good job. I think having Bozeman at RG is actually more of a concern for me than Brown at LT, because LSU is suspect on runs up the middle, but seems to play pretty well on the edges. If we can't attack their weakness, it could be a long day. I think LSU will have more success against Bama's passing attack than anyone to this point, honestly, unless we can make them stack the box. LSU's pass defense is among the best in the country, and they won't be dumb and try to single cover Cooper.
