I have a good feeling, especially this year, and maybe most, that people will agree with me and say that State really is a team that you don't mind seeing win some games (when they aren't playing LSU). Their fan base seems one of the more level headed. They know just like everyone else that they are at a spot they have never been, but they really do a pretty decent job acting like they have been their unlike many other teams.

Also considering they are stuck right dab in the middle of 2 of the worst. 70 miles or so to the east you have Bama which has so many delusional fans that 70% probably haven't ever stepped on campus and probably 100 miles NorthWest you have OM which I suspect most of their fans are people tied to the university but are insufferable. They have these thoughts of being relevant in the world of college ball but only relevant to one another when they sit around their overrated tailgates and tell the stories their grand and great grand parents told them about the good ol' days.

So for State fans to be so humble, it makes me always seem to be pulling for them.

I guess it helps my little bro who is a die hard fan ended up going to State and leaving with a quality engineering education.

What "SEC" team(s) do you not mind seeing find success except when playing your team?

Oh except for that tPOS Dillon Day... But bad apples can end up anywhere. Glad LSU didn't offer him fwiw

Mississippi State is my main answer.

It's gonna be hard to cheer against them in Tuscaloosa in 3 weeks if LSU needs them to lose to keep their SEC title hopes alive.

Especially this year with guys like Dak and Josh Robinson. It's a great group of guys.

My alternate answer is Georgia. If they were in the College Football Playoff, I would cheer for them to win it all. As well as State.

Those are the only two teams. If any other team in the conference were to make it to the playoff, I would be cheering against them.

South Carolina, although I admit that Spurrier is the main reason for that. Love his attitude. He's always been one of my favorite coaches.

Ole Miss, since I actually went there and attended almost every home game from childhood until then.

But I wouldn't call myself a fan of them. I'd just rather them win than any other SEC program.

I root for Vanderbilt since they don't have any fans. I also root for A&M to win every once and while, so there can be some hope of miracles.

Ha, UGA is usually the team I'm secretly pulling for in the East as well.... Back in the day before Spurrier days they were sorta a tie UGA and USCe in the East..

I mean UGA recruits their arse off and has some great teams some year and always good other years with top classes but never ever seem to get over the hump.... But neither I pull for as much as State.

South Carolina.

They're genuinely good people, except for the immense amount of Northeastern guidos that have plagued the campus in recent years. Also, I'm surrounded by them so I really don't have too much of a choice.

Sandstorm is the tits.

welllll did you read the question I asked?

That is your primary team it seems in the SEC.... I was asking who else do you pull for besides when they play your team of course.

I find myself pulling for LSU a lot here lately. Mostly because of Miles. I think he is a good coach and an even better person. I also don't mind seeing State having success and it was awesome watching them slap auburn around.

I don't mind State cause they are in the phase we we're in during the early 2000s. They aren't entitled yet so they are just enjoying the run. That said, I don't think it lasts long term after this season.

Also don't mind South Carolina and hope Butch has some success at Tenn. He seems to be very passionate and gets his kids to buy in.

I don't mind Auburn winning, as long as it doesn't hurt LSU or Tennessee
Based off my experiences with fans from other schools, I've enjoyed them the most

yeah of course I sorta pull for Vandy too... Probably over anyone but LSU and State.... You have to love a team that recruits and has such his academics and still competes at major sports. Especially baseball... I always hope they do well. Also it seems the guys that do make it out of there and on NFL or MLB rosters always seem like good high character people....

They actually bring the SEC up acxademically, have to like that

But frick aTm.... Yeah but no

Everyone but UT and Auburn. The other 11 teams don't bother me one bit.

I tend to agree. 13 of 22 starters are seniors, and if Dak goes, they're losing 14. Not sure about their depth, but it's always tough to replace that many starters.
