Horror movies really do tend to make me laugh, too.

The Saw series is pretty good. Also try the Hostel movies and the Descent movies.

You should probably kill yourself.

The Strangers

One of the best horror movies of the last decade IMO. Doesn't rely on gore or jump scares, just good old fashioned lock your door creepy.

As AU said not that old, but it's one of the better newer movies of the genre.

Let the Right One In is that for me. Even if it lends it's hand to more drama than horror.

Ahhhhh! Thank you for posting that. It did my heart good to read it. Doesn't count against my F bomb count if I read it and yet, it provides me the same sort of relief as if I'd said it myself.

Se7en and Silence of the Lambs are also in that "creepy drama" genre.

My favorite ever is still probably Alien.

its funny how subjective this stuff can be. I watched a movie called "The Innkeepers" last night on a suggestion. too slow except for the last thirty min.
