Dude, that Bama - Vol tradition has been dead a while now. Instead of it being a circled calander game on both teams walls, its merely a road bump for Bama.

Alabama and Tennessee have deigned to play on the fourth Saturday occasionally to help the SEC out in scheduling.

Alabama cares about our other SEC schools and wouldnt want to do anything that screws up everyone elses schedule. So we play on the 4th Saturday sometimes to be nice and fair.

It's a sacrifice we made with expansion and the new schedules and to keep permanent opponents. Who says we get everything we want? It's actually been on the 4th Saturday more often than not the last decade or so, so you're late here.
