Our guard play will be better. Josh Gray is JUCO player of the year and is a long scorer at PG.

No doubt he can score but scoring isn't LSU's problem. Somebody has to get Martin and Mickey the ball and I'm not sure he has the mentality to be a distributor.

2nd time in 4 years we have been picked 2nd to last. Last time we were picked there (2011) we finished 2nd.

Tennessee has not finished lower than 8th in the SEC since 1996-97 fwiw. That spans over 6 coaches.

Going to be a fun year to watch Rick Ray surprise pretty much everyone and then land the number 1 recruit in the country.

Cal's on Fbaum right now basically recruiting. He's giving a spill about people saying he plays too many kids but that he'll continue to do so because it's best for the kids

Gray averaged 6 assists a game in JUCO last season. He's score first, and well, had to be on his Odessa C.C. team, but 6 assists per game is very very good for a college PG. Had 3.2 assists per game at Texas Tech as a freshman.

Gray is very dynamic, can light up the scoreboard and also dish it out. He had games at Odessa where he dropped 40-50 points and 5-6 assists still. He didn't have the weapons at Texas Tech or Odessa he has now at LSU as well. Hickey will be missed, but we couldn't have replaced him with someone much better than a Junior in Gray. Gray has a couple inches on Hickey and is a much much better scorer and arguably better distributor. He'll turn the ball over more though because he's higher risk.

Stringer was also that dead eye 3 point shooter but Hornsby is legit himself, and about a half foot taller than Stringer. The biggest issues with Stringer and Hickey were they could not defend taller guards. We struggled bad in some games with guards getting to the basket and they were key issues in that...they just didn't have the length.
