Box Score

- Special Teams. I would've had no issue with Stoops making our ST coach walk back to Lexington Billy G style. That was awful. They've been an issue all season long and I'm sure it didn't help having Peveto on the other sideline, but damn. They single-handedly took UK out of the game. On the upside, it was pretty clear in his reaction that Stoops is aware of the issue.

- The offense was just flat out anemic. Granted, I'm not particularly surprised Towles had issues throwing downfield against LSU. They're Top 10 in the country in pass defense and I think everytime Towles did throw it was in double coverage. Props to LSU because they covered our WRs very well. And the youth showed when he did have an open man (i.e. Timmons not know where the hell the ball is). Since this road isn't going to get any easier, Brown is going to have to figure out something other than the wildcat to bail this offense out when it's at a standstill.

- Speaking of Brown's playcalling, if I see one more throw into the flat against a fast defense I'm going to throw something.

- I thought the defense played about as well as could be expected since they were at a disadvantage most of the night on a short field. We knew LSU would get some runs. I thought they contained LF pretty well throughout the night and really the only time they laid down is when they were worn down in the 4th against Magee. Our line got a lot of pressure and represented well enough. Tough position for them to be put in but they gutted it out anyway. Props to them.

It was an ugly one but Stoops said it best in you can't get down on just one game. Gonna have to strap it back up and get back out there and try to bring their A game next week with the #1 team coming to town. I think they play better than they did last night but it could be another ugly result. That all said, I still think there's some winnable games remaining on the schedule outside of Georgia and Mizzou if they can cut out getting cute on Special Teams. And in reality they're still ahead of where I thought they'd be at this point in the season.

Belle,

Your points are well taken, I agree 100%. ST was awful, and if they don't fix that quickly, it will be a long season the rest of the way.

What troubled me a bit more thought was the offense had no ability to move the ball. I know LSU has a good D, but the offense has got to figure out how to move the ball, or the wins will be few the rest of the way.

Much work to be done.
