I've never experienced that at our campground. Almost every SEC fanbase was represented, and we all got along and hung out together. Some LSU fans even shared their squirrel stew with us.

I went in the spring and it was fun, but I'll probably never do it again. Just not my kind of crowd. The way I explained it to other Auburn students was, "imagine a bunch of people dressed like we do for Rodeo, except that's just how those people dress on a regular basis." It's interesting to see, but don't expect an SEC tailgating experience or anything.

but you're from Talladega County though.

I've stolen so much stuff from Dega. Lots of camping style chairs in college. Lots of beer in high school.

The only time I had been to the racetrack before this past spring was on a weekday when they gave us a tour and drove us around in a pace car. My family isn't big on Nascar. Not even close.

I've been going since the mid 70's. It's was wild
back then seen some shite that can't be unseen. If
you go to the infield and camp shite still gets pretty wild.

You can't go wrong with an RV on the infield. So much fun.

Johnson ran strong all day.. just couldn't find the help or right line at the end. Keselowski having Logano up at the front of the pack changed the entire race.

Enjoyed seeing Danica run at the front again toward the end too. Hope she gets her first win sooner rather than later.

Looking forward to Martinsville next weekend. Gordon runs well there so hopefully we can get a better run than today. You could tell he and Hamlin played it extremely safe

I wanted JJ to win, but if Danica had won and JJ had finished 2nd (as it looked like it might end up with under 10 to go), I would have been so happy for her. She puts up with a lot of shite, and I think she'll get a win or two before it's all said and done. Was great to see her run up front and run strong--she just got hung out to dry like Johnson did down the stretch.

Gordon did exactly what he needed to do--and disaster STILL almost found him Glad he's carrying the Hendrick torch into the next round.

Damn this Chase format is fun to follow

Kudos to you guys still following it. Grew up with old school NASCAR and can't get into the new version.

I guess it'd be difficult to adjust to the new version (although I grew up with the Winston Cup/Busch series days), but I do appreciate the way the current format raises the stakes so much. The racing at the end of the Talladega race was frantic, desperate, and wonderful, whereas in the past this race would have probably been a follow-the-leader snoozer in comparison (outside of the ubiquitous "Big One").

Not trying to change your mind or anything, I just really enjoyed what I saw today, and I credit the Chase format for that.

Brad Keselowski can go frick himself, though

Has little to do with the format and more to do.with the pussification of america type stuff. Used to be you could just wreck people in your way, then that started getting penalized more. I quit watching it closely when they made it a penalty to go below the yellow line to race.

Ah, gotcha. To each their own

I believe that's only at Daytona and Talladega now, iirc. Everywhere else nowadays from what I've seen, you can go onto the apron to pass. I know they can at Kansas.

Although at the restrictor plate tracks there's really no advantage to doing that much anymore.

Pookie and Cosmo are awesome people. They camped a few spots down from us a couple of races ago. If you saw them driving around in a jeep with a boxer riding with them, that was y boxer. Cosmo fell in love with my dog and used him to try and pick up girls.

There was a third guy with them, but I forget his name. Haven't seen them since the spring race last year.
